"Chicago: That Imprisonin' Town"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Oh, and VV2here)
Which is worse - Chicago and its lack of signs, or Israel which has signs to its new super-highway Road 6 posted absolutely everywhere, even when the entrance is 20-30 kilometers from the sign?
(Got Lem, too!)
I haven't been to either, but I know what I find more annoying: a dearth of signs when there should be plenty. Here in Shropshire we have an additional complication: some of the locals' idea of fun is to turn signs through 90 degrees and send unwitting visitors the wrong way. An alternative theory is is that they haven't quite recovered from 1939-45 when signs were removed to confuse the Germans. (Some of the residents regard anything post-1945 as hopelessly newfangled and unacceptably modern.)
Did I mention that I'm suffering from a bout of 'Man Flu' and so am feeling more than usually misanthropic?
PS done & dusted to here. |
