Two words or less.
Some notes:
In Five Easy Pieces, Bobby Dupea's middle name is Eroica. High and Low is a kidnapping story directed by Akira Kurosawa, who also directed Ran. |

The Prof's review for Rick & Steve The Happiest Gay Couple In All The World, submitted on June 12, is exactly the same as mine for The Birdcage, which, in turn, was submitted on January 7th. If it gets more votes than my original one, I will have no choice but to conclude that you are all, indeed, wankers. And I'm only half-joking.
And one other thing. I am not being pedantic or anything, but "School of Cock" has also been used before, I think. Maybe Yukon? Or TheFoxboy? Anyhoo.
It is usually I who is at the receiving end of arguments like this so please forgive me my moment of shallow superciliousness.

Ali, I hadn't seen your review for the Birdcage nor had I seen another School of Cock review.
I guess your implication is that I copied them. I didn't.
I've removed the Poof Daddies review.
I thought your post was, as you said, shallow and supercilious, and also a bit rude.

I didn't imply you had copied my review. I don't mince words; I am fairly straightforward, and say what I think.
And, as I said, I have been accused of plagiarism, subtly and not-so-subtly, before, and five or six reviews of mine have previously been reported as duplicates, without letting me know about them first. I just wanted to see how it feels like when the shoe is on the other foot.
Perhaps not surprisingly, it doesn't feel that great.

Wooaa! Go easy Ali. Most of us have duplicated reviews or had others duplicate our reviews. It happens, and I think it is safe to say that in the great majority of cases it is accidental.
There has been some chat on this thread about the desirability of a duplicate check for submissions. Benj, what is your view on this? Is there a dedicated thread about this?
Right, I am off to vote on Ali's original review. |

Settle down, my little droogies.
With a quarter million reviews on the site, duplicate does not necessarily mean plagiarized. It simply means duplicate. There are ways to check for previous co-brilliance before you submit a review, but most people don't do that, so let's assume the best of everyone. An actual plagiarist won't last very long here. |
