I need help with a new accolade I have created. I am a TIme Travel fan. Anything to do with Time Travel, I love. But there are some time traveling movies that just BUM me out! They are Flawed Time Travel movie. In regular time travel movie, people can time travel wiout a care in the world. They can come and go as they please. Not these Time Travel movies. They have some extra flaws that could make time travelers worried. Im not talking about if your time machine breaks down or you actually change the past for the worst. There is always a chance that you can die in the past or in the future, bysomeone elses hands, not by time travleing itself. This is all about the traveling through time. I have a few already but I dont know if there are anymore out there. Can you help me? Here are the ones I have.

The Last Mimzy - Only inanimate objects can travel trough time
Time Machine - You can only travel into the future, Fast forward time
The Langoliers - There is no Past. Hungry things are eating it up
DEja Vu - Your heart stops if you travel to the past
TimeLine - Too much Time Traveling can kill you.
Click - Fast fowarding time ages you.

Sound of Thunder wouldn't qualify since the butterfly effect has to do with killing a butterfly in the distant past which affects the present horribly. This film is horrible btw. I viewed it on dvd.

Do you know of any time travel story where the travellers age or grow younger based on the time travel?

I find it amusing that someone cited the butterfly effect as a reason time travel goes bad, and yet no one's yet cited The Butterfly Effect.

Another one I think is notable is "Click," where fast forward robs you of years of your life but rewind is just a spectator sport, if you get me.

Butterfly Effect didnt have any bad effects while time traveling. HE did things to make bad things happen in the future. Unless you mean his nose bleeds and seizures. But would he have died if he kept time taveling that way?

Yes. I guess Click did make you age while fast fowarding. So in any event...If you did fast forward too much you could die. So I will add that. Thanx MBI.

Certainly Planet of the Apes would fit this accolade. What about the Back to the Future movies? There's also Time After Time with chasing Jack the Ripper into the 20th century by using Wells' time machine. Jumanji kind of fits. What about the TimeCop movies (two, I think)?

I think so. His dad ended up in the looney bin, presumably because of too much traveling, all that extra info from extra lifetimes being stored in his head.

some of you are not gripping the concept. I want movies that have Time Traveling itself being fatal or impossible.

Back to the Future - Marty could time travel with ease in the Delorean. Sure he got stuck in time because of the gas or the 2.21 gigawatts. But Time Traveling itself was clean.

Jumanji - It had no Time traveling. Robin Williams got stuck in the game and spit him out later. There was no worry in time travel itself.

TimeCop - Also time travel was easily done. The evil guy touched himself in the past and imploded. But it wasnt because of time travel itself.

Time After Time - He chose to go after Jack The Ripper.

I need more info with Planet of the Apes.

So you see. I am looking for Time Travel itself to be the problem. Not being in the past of future. But Time travel itself affecting people or things.

I dont think I will use the ButterFly Effect. No harm came to him. Just unpleasant seizures and nose bleeds. Unless you can give me more to go on.

Im also wondering about Star Trek: The Voyage Home. Does sling shotting around the sun count as peril?

Which version?, I haven't seen the Guy Pearce one, but Rod Taylor could go both ways.

In Planet of the Apes, it was the unplanned time travel that gave them problems.
