From that other thread, I see that there are people here who don't delete the reviews that were rejected. I always do (probably because that square turning bright white makes me feel like I've done something wrong).
Why do or don't you delete the reviews that were rejected?

I don't delete (any more) because:
(1) near-identical reviews for other people frequently get approved later. (2) the rejected reviews may inspire me to think of improved versions of them. (3) I then cannot resubmit an identical review from having forgotten the first time. |

I always delete my rejects immediately. Then I come up with another idea for the same film right away, sometimes a modification of the old one. This way, I don't need to keep the old rejects.
I figure if someone gets a similar one approved, that's life.

Perhaps. When I look at the myfwfr page, those icons are either bright blue and white or bright blue and pale blue. For instance, I only leave newly approved reviews in my "approved review" section until they get their first vote. If I don't have any zero voted reviews, then my "approved reviews" list is empty and that triangle is light blue. Since I regularly delete (or resubmit) my rejected reviews, I know immediately when one has been rejected by the pale blue square turning white.

Yep, I don't get any of these. (There have been periods when I have had no newly approved reviews, and the colour hasn't changed then.) |

It's not a PC thing. I get the same thing on a Mac.

I've recently started keeping them, because a review I had submitted a while back and was rejected, was, in turn, approved when submitted by another reviewer. I am actually not that fussed anymore(I was a bit pissed off at the time), and I might start deleting them again soon.

I take it back. I have just cleared my recently approved reviews and the triangle is indeed pale (really quite pale) blue. Given that the unchanging symbols (e.g. new films - talking of which, why is this everyone's added films, whereas everything else there is specific to oneself?) are dark blue and white, it would make more sense for the 'alert' forms of the other symbols to be dark blue and light blue, i.e. they would then stand out more. (Actually, dark blue and yellow would be better still, and would also parallel the Fourum.) |

It depends...
I generally submit more than one review for each film, in the hope that at least one will be approved. If one gets through I'm more relaxed about deleting others. If I think an explanation will make a difference I resubmit, but mostly I delete the rejections when I remember to check my 'declined' list, which isn't very often. |

I used to delete them but then others got similar or identical ones passed. |

LOL, I'm an idiot. I had no idea those symbols changed color. If I happen to think they're total shite, I delete declines, but the others I keep to remind me there is a film I want to try to review again, to remind me that I need to revisit a particular review, to keep someone else from submitting one like it, or just because I personally happened to like it! |

Yep, that's another reason for me too:
(4) there are some that I like sufficiently that I would rather at least have them in my rejected list that nowhere at all. |

I have never deleted a review since I first came on this site (Well except for the ones that have gone through 3 times after editing them) YOu should see my list of Rejects. I later go back and try to edit or if another review sounds like mine I just go back and check. |

I don't think I've reached 2,000 rejects, but I hang onto them because they keep me humble.

I keep declined reviews until I am able to come up with either a revised version or a completely new review. I find that when I go back to a film after initially having the review rejected I can often come up with a better one. After I submit the new one I delete the old one.
Just wondering: What's the reason for keeping a declined review in case another reviewer has a similar one accepted later?
