I have never seen the movies, but heard comments about it being the 'new Grease' and that kind of thing. Having just watched Grease again recently on TV (and I watched it many times when I was younger) I wonder - does HSM deal with sex and other 'teenage' issues as forthrightly as Grease does?
I also watched Saturday Night Fever again recently. That really is a gritty film, and it always amazes me how both these movies get looked back on as if they were 'twee'.
While I found Grease to be a bit of a disappointment, the saving grace of Saturday Night Fever is its grittyness. The whole thing about Stephanie being a kept woman, and the gang-bang scene. People think about it as just a disco dancing movie, but there's so much more to it than that, it should be considered a classic.
People will still be watching Saturday Night Fever long after these High School Musicals have their DVDs discontinued.
Oops - "Girl next Door" Vanessa Hudgens forced to make apology to her fans after pictures of her intended for her boyfriend found their way onto the net . Maybe some grovelling apologies to Disney for HSM3 as they aren't all that keen on their family-friendly stars appearing in the nude. Many assumed they were the usual fakes until the star herself issued the apology.
The photo does actually look fake to me. I wouldnt have thought otherwise ntil I heard her apology. You cant even see the camera in the photo. Since she took it in front of a mirror. If anyone would like to see the pic. Message me and I will send you the link.
