There are, currently, 110 of us who qualify as "movie buffs", and we want your votes. If you are one of us, throw up any 5 reviews you like and beg for votes (anyone can vote) Anyone who after today becomes a movie buff can add their own FWFR's whenever they want.

Er, why can't they just take part in FYC with everyone else? 
I can't say the idea of vote-swapping amongst an exclusive group of fwfrs is really a great idea. 
Just invite them to come along to the twice weekly FYC and say hello!

They're more than welcome to take part in the weekly FYC and any other contest they want...I fully intend to continue putting FWFRs in those other contests. I'm not sure I understand the objection here; I just happened to notice there are 110 people who are "movie buffs" and I thought it would be fun to have a fourum for those folks....however, if there is a consensus that it's a bad idea, I'll delete the topic

Well, naturally you can do what you like, but why exactly should there be something for ONLY movie buffs, which excludes everyone else? Why can't they just take part in FYC, which is there for everyone, movie buffs included, to show their five reviews?
Do you really want an activity where you have to say to people, "Sorry, you can't take part, you don't qualify"?
We don't have any other activities here which work on that basis. Everywhere else in the forum, anyone can enter anything, and, personally, I think it would be best to keep it that way.

Lots of aspects of the site exclude certain reviewer levels, e.g. stat creation, scoring films 0 or 6, being a MERP and being in the Oracle Road accolade.
There's no reason why a thread should be any different, if someone wants it that way.

There's 24 Deitys and if one of us put out a thread of exclusive vote swapping I'd ignore it as slightly dodgy elitism. I think there's already enough opportunities to showcase your efforts to fellow Fwiffers. But if you think there is a call for it, then as Whipper says, you can do what you like. |
