Finally I've moved up in the ranks! I am a movie star WOOT!
I am usually loath to provide explantions but:
For Quills, lye is a traditional ingredient of soap. Old fashioned laundering being significant to story.
Total Recall: Arnold disguises himself as a woman in order to get into Mars

Five fairly fresh.

Notes:

La Jetee is the film on which Twelve Monkeys is based.

Supermarket Woman is a Japanese movie about a (you guessed it) woman who helps a faltering supermarket boost its sales.

Two newbies and three lowbies

Notes:
In One Dark Night, sorority pledges have to spend the night in a mausoleum (one filled with zombies, as it turns out . . . of course!) as a hazing.

The sci fi classic Stargate stars The Crying Game's Jaye Davidson.

Blade stars the first major black vampire role since the early '70s Blacula. Star Wesley Snipes famously quoth "Always bet on black!" in Passenger 57.

In Hostage, Bruce Willis now plays the cop outside the building full of hostages, talking to someone on the inside via walkie talkie. In Die Hard, Willis was the inside man talking to the outside cop.
