Sorry for being late.

http://www.fwfr.com/user.asp?id=5267

Cat City is an anime crime film starring anthropomorphic cats.

The Birdcage review is similar to my Farm Family review from last week. Think of a recent Michael Bay film.

The Brothers Solomon is a comedy about two idiot brothers named Solomon that try to get a woman pregnant so that their dying father can have a grand child before he dies. The review is a reference to a famous story from the Bible (1 Kings, if I'm not mistaken).

The Brokeback Mountain one is basically a duplicate.

Yep, there seem to be many "Mountin'" references out there(1 in the top 5 even), but I only scrolled thru the first page. If it turns out to be plagiarism, I'll definitely delete it. Thanks for pointing it out....

I didn't specify the duplicates indeed because I think there are several. The first one I found was "Brokeback Mountain: Bareback Mountin'" or something, but that wasn't specifically familiar, which is why I think there are multiple ones. There's also my own "Cowboys enjoy bareback riding", but yours is of course different enough from that.

O.K., I think the one I mentioned turns out to be the oldest "bareback mounting" one, although there are numerous older ones playing on the title in other ways. This is the best way, though, and yours is better for not pointlessly reminding people of the title and for dropping the g, but I'm not sure whether it's enough of an improvement to stand as well.

If it's any comfort, I've just now deleted a pending review for another film that is too similar to one of the approved ones, although, like your case, an improvement on it.

I kinda like bareback mountin' cuz it seemed appropriate, but when I reviewed the other submissions, it seemed I may have stepped on some toes.. like I said, still haven't gotten past the first page, but if further research dictates a deletion, I'll be glad to pass this one on to Smithee.... he needs more help anyway... Hehe

Sal? Are we cool? 'Cuz I'm sick of irkin' people around here for no reason...

Completely - didn't mean to suggest otherwise. I would have silently reported it had it been simple (i.e. could I intially be bothered to work out which equivalent review was earliest). It's a shame because, like I say, yours is better, but it's so often the case that people have got a great idea first and then not executed it as well as they could have. <shrug>

Sorry, I had missed this part of your post somehow. You don't need to do further research as I have done it - see the link. It's up to you if you count it as a duplicate, but I think if it were reported (as I would certainly do if you Smitheed it, since the function of Smithee is not to hold duplicates), it would be quite unlikely that it would stand.

Well, I went ahead and scrolled thru the 364 reviews for 'Brokeback Mountain' (even though you'd already researched it, Sal) and determined that there are 2-3 extremely similar reviews for the Mountin' theme I've touched on. With 364 reviews, I would guess originality for reviewing this particular film may no longer exist. I'm glad I finally scrolled thru this film... gave me the chance to throw some votes around the secondary pages, while visiting those that were similar to mine.

I've decided to keep the review... while similar to others, it still carries its own merit, and I no longer feel a twinge of guilt for having duplicated another reviewer's efforts.

Still, thanks for pointing out my lack of originality... I'll spend the rest of the day questioning my manhood, contemplating life in general and my place in the universe(attempt at levity)...

There are some damn good reviews on the secondary pages, yet it's slow going, sifting thru 364 boy-butt references...
