Nothing new to pimp this week, so here's five pushing double figures that I'm particularly fond of.
Spoiler for "Dreamgirls".
Some notelets, if required, Charlie Parker's nickname was Bird, "nasty piece of work" is a common phrase, one use of the word 'late' is dead, 'piano' meets quiet and 'dolce' means sweet. |

What the hell?
Notes: In "Elvis and the Beauty Queen," a relatively unknown Don Johnson plays Elvis Presley . . . very BADLY!
In a classic film flub left in "Days of Thunder," a woman calls Cole Trickle "Tom" (as in Tom Cruise, who plays Cole) by mistake.
In "Apt Pupil," Ian MacKellen plays a Nazi . . . somewhat of a repeat of his performance in "Richard III" three years earlier. |

The most interesting thing about Star Trek: Nemesis was that it featured a character that was Captain Picard's clone. Several themes and plot points were reused from an earlier Star Trek film, The Wrath of Khan.
"The Several Severed Heads Of Daniel Edwards" is a rather dull documentary shot very conservatively with Edwards simply talking straight to the camera about his artwork, which are sculptures of severed heads. |

Yeah . . . the only difference is that "Khan" is a sci fi classic, and "Nemesis" is a pile of space dung! |

P.S. Animal Mutha -- That "kick ass/bubble gum" line is No.1 on my list of movie lines that should be famous but aren't. I'm glad to see someone else recognizes the brilliance of Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Plus, that's got to be the longest fistfight in movie history... |

Firstly, I am a massive fan of John Carpenter's earlier works, Big Trouble In Little China being the first film I remember seeing at the cinema. So thanks for recognising the quote Yukon. Secondly, I do believe it is the longest fist fight in film history and it's absolutely hilarious! It's beautifully parodied HERE |
