Shake Hands with the Devil is about how the Rwandan genocide affected General Romo Dallaire personally.

Five
for your consideration.

Explanations:

- Bob Marley fans (and who isn't a Bob Marley fan?) should read the movie title and the review together on my Exodus review. The movie's plot involves the creation of Israel, populated largely by Jews displaced in the Second World War.

- In The Fast Runner an Inuit (or Eskimo) is forced to run naked thru the Arctic landscape as punishment.

- When I saw the title Apocalypse and the Beauty Queen it seemed to me that the same two-word phrase could apply to both parts of the title.

- Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room is a documentary on how a crooked billion dollar company exploited power shortages to gouge huge profits. Both phrases have at least a double meaning.

- Fahrenheit 9/11 is the cinematic equivalent of a remix, but Michael Moore's second movie with a temperature in the title. Hence my review.

Note: Hearts in Atlantis was based on the story 'Low Men in Yellow Coats,' though some colors were changed.

And me.

True story: In late January of 1981 my husband and I got on a train going from Calais to Paris and were soon joined by Bob, the Wailers and a few of their entourage. We were in the non-smoking part of the carriage and soon after they sat down, several of the group lit up their stinking ganga sticks. We tried to explain that the smoking section was just beyond the doors and asked them as nicely as possible to either move through the doors to the smoking part of the carriage or please refrain from smoking. Despite our trying to be polite, Bob and one or two of his group soon became nasty with all sorts of rude statements the sweetest of which included "you know who you fucking with, mon?" and "I could buy this fucking train, mon!" with an additional "Stop fucking looking at me or I fucking smash your fucking teeth in, mon. Throw you off the fucking train, mon. Watch you fucking brains splatter on the fucking tracks, mon" not to mention some particularly disgustingly graphic ways they were going to "take fucking care" of me personally. After that, we called the porter to get them out of our compartment and into the smoking area. Of course, they continued their tirade even louder from the other side of the glass, and found every opportunity to open the connecting doors and shout a few more through. Because of this, from that moment on, I refused to listen to their music and while Bob himself is no longer alive, I will never listen to his band, ever!

(Got fucking everyone, so fucking far.)

Phew, C.L., and I thought London commuters were bad enough! (Why do mothers think that it's O.K. to sit on the outer of a pair of seats while their pushchair blocks access to the inner one and loads of people are having to stand crammed together? And why oh why is Ken Livingstone going to let old people travel for free during rush hour?)

Well, so much for nominating Marley for sainthood. Whoa!

BTW, I think this may have been in 1980, not '81. Marley stopped touring in September 1980, due to his brain cancer, but was touring France in 1980. He died in May '81. But, hey, I wasn't there CL, you were.

Potential spoilers in the explanations below for those who don't even have the faintest idea of the trilogy...

This is confusing. Are there spoilers in the reviews too?
