ATTENTION: I'D JUST LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT LUKE SKYWALKER IS DARTH VADER'S SON. AND A GROUP OF LIONS IS CALLED A PRIDE. And V&V to here. |

Attention all newbies, and anyone who missed The Great Pride of Lions Saga.
I have this review. It's for Born Free. I think it's a pretty cute review. But it wasn't attracting many votes. At about that time, there had been some 4UM to-ing and fro-ing about whether or not to add hints to one's choices for FYCTH.
So - AS A JOKE - I pointed out that the collective noun for lions is a pride.
So
Now you know.

My recollection is that Yukon was first to enrich us with the "a group of lions is called a pride" - a Yukon nugget, you might say. You, Baffs, were so kind as to teach us that a badger's home is called a sett.
It's such an honour for the rest of us to mix with such knowledgeable people.

Sensei, I just bestowed you a vote for that great review. Now go back and do me the same! [Not one, many!] |

The collective noun for grasshoppers is a shame. The collective noun for senseis cannot be pronounced in public. They all live together in a settee.

Thanks for taking the bullet Bafta, but Whipper is right. The stupid Pride of Lions hint was mine. |

I think you can even spoil something as "well-known" as PSYCHO for some movie fans.
Yes, this was semi-spoiled for me here recently. I say semi- because I was given some reason to think I was confused about it. And yes, I will see it when I can, but renting D.V.D.s is not free.
I'm curious, then, judging from your diary accolades: if you do not rent DVDs, how do you manage to see so many movies every year? Do you work in a movie theater? And if you DO rent DVDs, why have you failed to select PSYCHO? |

Those accolades are just for cinema viewings. During 2004 and 2005, I did indeed work at a cinema. During 2006, 2007 and 2008 I have had a Cineworld (a cinema chain) 'Unlimited' card. For 15 a month, one can see any number of films, so I see over twenty. It's very good value. (Central London cinema tickets can be up to about 12.)
I don't rent D.V.D.s. I was a member of LoveFilm (postal D.V.D. service), but only while I had several free subscriptions; Psycho was on my list but never happened to come through. I decided not to continue by paying for a subscription as I didn't have enough free time to get value out of it. |
