Can I add a film that is listed as "In development" on IMDB? (It says I have to be a member of IMDBPro for more details.)
I read about it in a trade paper and IMDB has it listed as 2008.
What's the ruling? I already know the basic plot which is all my review requires. |

It's certainly possible. I've done so before. Benj can easily get rid of it if he disapproves or if it is cancelled. |

I would think twice. There are a lot of films that are in development in Hollywood, and most don't get made. There are quite a few films already on the site that have now been relegated to Development Hell - off the top of my head, the Justice League of America flick.

Thinking twice is always a good idea. There are, however, some films that would be "in development" that are sure-fire to be made. I'm thinking along the likes of the next Harry Potter movies. We knew when the first film came out that there would be a total of seven, so adding those even long before the books to go with them were written was no problem. But for stand-alone movies, yeah, I'd think twice. |

Or, more to the point, think twice before spending a lot of time working on reviews for such films. |

My policy is always to throw it all against the wall and see what sticks...if you have a review you want to submit, go ahead and submit it and leave it up to benj to decide if the film belongs here. There's very little point in giving yourself reasons to not submit a review. |

Yup, you can add the film (assuming the film details are accessible to non-paying IMDB site visitors) but, like most have been saying, don't get too attached to any reviews added. I have no qualms about deleting a film with or without reviews attached should it turn into a no-go. |

Well, apart from the fact that one might go to a lot of trouble over some reviews, the cap means that one might want to give lower priority to reviews less likely to survive. |
