Hello, all.

At Unloosen.com, another writer and I have embarked upon a project called The Five Monstrous Obstructions. It is loosely inspired by the documentary The Five Obstructions, in which Lars von Trier challenges a mentor to remake a film five times with five different "obstructions."

Our project goes like this: each Thursday in October, we will be posting stories based on different kinds of monsters -- but with a different obstruction each week. This week, we are doing vampire stories, and the obstruction is that the vampires cannot drink anyone's blood. My take on the vampire genre is called "Fix City", and my fellow writer Craig has written one called "Midnight Matinee."

Sorry to have to beg, but if any Fourmers could head over to the site and post any kind of feedback, we'd really appreciate it. This is mainly a Halloween writing exercise done for fun, but we'd still like people to actually read the darned things.

Thanks a million.

UPDATE: Well, October is over and so is our Lars Von Trier-inspired writing project. For inspiration, I actually watched The Five Obstructions and liked it quite a bit. (Though I don't know if Von Trier comes out well in it. He seems like a spoiled brat.)

Anyhow, the whole project -- ten stories in all, plus opening and closing essays -- is available here. Enjoy. Or don't.
