A rash of ridiculous remakes...

NB:
Jason returns for his twelfth (and first?) in the "Friday" series.
Rose McGowan is playing Red Sonja.

What do H.G. Wells, Christopher Nolan, Bill the Butcher, George A. Romero and C.S. Lewis have in common?

Note: Jay Cocks wrote the screenplay for Gangs of New York.

I am totally for giving explanations where potentially necessary, but I do think it's best just to give the minimum possible about the films/the world in order to allow the reader to see the link. I'm afraid that a stark list of "X=Y" just makes me think "X and Y don't look that similar to me" and there is no fun when then looking at the reviews themselves. If I make the connection myself, as I would have done with some of those, I think "That's a nice review" and consequently vote.

This is the second fycthing of those reviews so I thought I'll give a little tiny-printed solutions at the bottom like the ones you can find for crosswords.
"=" is misleading here, as I failed to find a symbol to attribute the "this is what I was striving for with these, they're not perfect, possibly not even good, but, you know, that is what I was going for with them."
Which ones do you think are the least (or aren't at all) "X=Y"?

Don't worry, I didn't mean I viewed them as inaccurate mathematical equations. I just meant that placing them side by side at all makes them seem less close and takes away the fun.

The top two are pretty obvious. The bottom one is fairly obvious too but I am not sure whether it is close enough for me to like; also, while I get the pun I don't actually get the review. (I similarly cannot gauge the accuracy of the top review.) I would probably have missed the third one, so a hint about who was connected with both films might have been a good idea. (Even though I already know that info, it would have made me think about The Royal Tenenbaums.) You could maybe get a better version of that review, though, like "The Loyal Mother-bounds" or something.

It was hard to tell if they were obvious or not to people when they got like 3 votes on the first run. This (the second run) is to make sure.

They're Stones, there's not much more. And then there's the reptile that breaths terror; although I don't know how common of a word is "varan" in English parts of the world, in my parts it's a known word.

Oh no no, you can't compare something you thought in five seconds to my little masterpiece (I wish. )
And if I rememeber correctly I think I give a rather biggish hint for DL review first time around.

"Toil" is generic, must be related to India. "Train 'n' bums" is better, I admit, but I think I won't resubmit it, because Merps didn't approve it just like that. Ask my other review - "Krishmore."
