Haha thanks glad you enjoyed the review

Yeah I should probably apologise to any vegetarians! But this just cracked me up. It was said by Frankie Boyle on BBC quiz show Mock The Week, for the category "Things That Would Change The Atmosphere At A Dinner Party".

Watch it here.

Sal, why do you drop sean's name from the title every time you start this thread, but you don't drop Monty's name from the "I had an idea thread"?

Because Sean's name isn't a proper part of the name of this thread: it's just a latterday affectation. I don't say "Sean says" either, because Sean didn't say some of those things (and because it's totally lame). I keep Monty's name in the other one because (i) it hasn't got a meaningful title and so needs it for an identity and (ii) it's worded in the first person so I don't want to be even theoretically stating that I have had the idea.

Why do I get a constant sense that you secretly hate being here Salopian? Are you being compelled against your will to interact with all of us somehow? Or are you part of a government plot to suck all the fun out of the room?

There's always the option of you not starting these threads, then you can avoid the tiresome risk of joining in with the spirit of the community.

A Murder of Crows

Carrion crows, Counting Crows, Jim Crow laws... all get a pun outing this round. And a Robin too.

Yeah he totally floors me!
Have you seen Harry Hill's TV Burp? That's another one of the funniest programmes on TV at the moment for me. I almost pulled a muscle laughing at it the other night!

There is only one thing I hate about this site, and I'm sure you'll agree that that is far from secretly.

If you want to define the spirit of the community as arbitrarily copying a minor change of title that someone randomly started at some point, then that's fine and I have no objection to you acting accordingly. But you also shouldn't object to my simply sticking with the original title. Bear in mind that I have never mentioned this before. I have just honestly answered a direct question from bife. Is your objection that I wasn't a sheep over an insignificant matter or that I didn't lie to bife about it?

It took about 2 weeks of conditioning to get him to sit on Santa's lap and he was only there for 2 secs, lucky the photographer was quick. They got two photos, the one you see and the next one that he is in tears. :)

Dunno if you're old enough to have seen Harry H. in his stand-up days -- truly amazing. A bit like v. early Steve Martin on speed.

At the moment I'm really into the 2nd series of The IT Crowd - They're all v. funny, but I think Richard Ayoade is a genius. Been following him since Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. He's filming something at the moment called Bunny and the Bull, co-starring The Mighty Boosh. Another funny fellow is Chris Addison - v. witty. Didja' see The Thick of It? His own sit-com was on recently, called Lab Rats.

I love the anarchic stuff!

I really have to say that I regard the use of the adverb "secretly" in the above sentence to be both grammatically inelegant and entirely unnecessary.

Simply the use of the adjective "secret" would have been more accurate and less grating.

Please try to remember this in future. Thanks.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, that's the carnivorous option!
