I looked it up at the time but cannot now remember whether it explicitly states that any Spanish is used, but it's highly likely that at least some is and even if not, there's a change of location and culture.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a version of SENSE AND SENSIBILITY set in Hispanic LA, although the IMDB details have disappeared and its now listed as "in development".
