(i) I don't get it.
(ii) While people are mistaken that links are supposed to contain www., when promoting reviews that readers are not obliged to consider (i.e. outside games) it's probably a good idea to include it. |

answer on the side (in beige) She likes her salad (friendship) on the side of her main course (relationships) because when you mix the two (friendship & relationships) one ruins the other.....they end up as lovers/married being their main course and their initial frienship ends up on the side.

Because while people have a duty to log into the appropriate version of the site/amend the link themselves if they are participating in a game, they are less likely to bother in other contexts. The www. version is the most commonly used one, so that's the one most people will be logged into already.
So, does she mention keeping the salad and main course separate? I didn't remember that if so. |

Yes she mentions it in detail once and then it is referred to again at least once more.
this is the detail of the above link, no www. ?

O.K., you've convinced me and I've voted for it.
Not really sure what your link query is now. |

In the case of Sean's FYCTH the rules actually state Four Your Consideration - Treasure Hunt
Sean Says: ... - You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants. ...
If people don't enable me to vote it is rare that I will change the link to fit. I go to the link and read the reviews, but, unless they are brilliant, IMHO, then I don't change the link and as such don't vote.
I do not vote for reviews where I have not been given the opportunity to do so and supplying the minority version of the site means that the majority have to edit the link to vote.
I don't understand why people would put other users to the extra trouble of editing a link to allow them vote.
I abide by the rules I visit read and leave unless something very special is there.
Cheers

Well, that bit isn't a rule and misnames part of the site, but that's another matter.

It is obvious that the reading of others' reviews is with a view to voting on them. It is not one of the rules that www. needs to be included; that has just happened to become the most common version of the site. Benj has all the versions working equally in parallel rather than redirecting to each other: is his choice once again not good enough for you? The onus is on the reader to be logged in; if they don't wish to be logged into every version (which after all they only have to do once unless they for some reason delete their cookies) then they have the additional option of being able to readily change the link. I'm the only person who has ever mentioned not owning their own computer, so I really cannot see why everyone else cannot just be logged in to all the versions (except for when e.g. Conan's and bife's daughters have also been active, which is not really the case now). One may not be able to stay logged in at work in some cases, but (i) one should last check the F.Y.C.T.H. during the last twelve hours at the earliest, when you for example would not be at work, and (ii) one should be working when at work. When I open an F.Y.C. link for which I am not logged in, I make a point of changing the U.R.L. before I look at the reviews, to make certain that I treat them fairly. |
