Someone tell me what "put the lotion in the basket" means. Please. Is it from an American tv commercial? I guess I was out of the room when it happened

It's from "The Silence of the Lambs" when the serial killer is in his lair with one of his detainees.

Thanks for the highlight Bean.

I can typically remember how and why something came to me, but on this one it truly just fell out of the sky. I did go to the horse track last weekend (fortunately not the one in Florida), so certainly the seed was planted there.

I think I also tried "Basquiat puts lotion in" for the film Basquiat about the heroin addicted artist, but the MERPs kicked that one. Maybe worth resubmitting now?

My younger cousin used to do the voice of Buffalo Bill perfectly for that line. It would send chills up our spines. It's the follow up line actually that gets you: "Put the f#cking lotion in the basket!" half crying... yikes.
