Thanks! Well unless Choccy is right and my music takes off and I embark on a world tour  then I'm moving into a place with a friend and trying to get a job as a copywriter in an ad agency. Unfortunately, it's the worst time in 20 years to find a bloody job in this industry, so that's just fantastic.

You'll find something, that's for sure. And your songs are a damned site better (by light years) than the one they had both Adam and Kris sing in the finale - that song they gave them was just... boring.

I haven't actually seen American Idol but all the talent shows are the same. They always give them such crap or just really, really predictable songs. There are more songs in the world than Imagine and Hallelujah for fuck's sake!!
I think it would be much more interesting if they looked for less well-known songs for them to sing. It just annoys me that they're always doing the same ones.

And as for American Idol, while I agree that too many of the songs are the popular, well known ones, they are what the public wants to hear (for the most part). During season 7 when Andrew Lloyd Webber mentored one week, I was praying that someone would pick something from "Evita", and certainly when they got okay to use songs from the Lennon & McCarteny songbook, there were dozens of songs they could have chosen besides the ones they sang. Shame, but there you have it. |
