I just got a review delined for Role Models 2008. I am not tellling you the reason or the review as I don't want your judgement.

I just wanted to say to the MERP involved thanks for the laugh the reason is a bit harsh but the second half of the message is hilarious.

You know who you are and thanks for that.

cheers

I will not be telling review as I feel that is undermining. The merps have the right to express their opinion etc.

I don't agree with the decision but do not want the fourum to discuss it.

The reason I posted originally was to express my amusement at the second half of the message.

I would like Benj to reconsider but wouldn't we all?

Anybody--what does MERP stand for? How many are there? Are they allowed to be revewers too?

Thanks.

Military Eunuch Review Police.

At last count there were 200.

They're failed reviewers.

Something like Multi Editor Review Processor they are all FWFR'ers who have at least 500 or a 1000 reviews. there is a limited number of them and it is a thankless task.

Benj asked for volunteerers with 500 or 1000 reviews (can remember which) they are all generally anonymous

hope this helps

It stands for multi-editor review processing(/-or). They are all reviewers. There were originally about eleven, selected from those who had at least 500 reviews a few years ago. Sean was one and formally retired. Others have become less active as well. Recently, another approximately one was selected on a secret basis.

That is obviously not true, since you thanked one of them in this very thread.

What makes you think I was ever a MERP and have formally retired*? For the record I've never been a MERP. I'm far too lazy to bother sorting out the chaff from other people's reviews.

*The 'retired' bit was probably a safe guess as I don't write reviews any more.

This made me think it. Neither you nor anyone else contradicted it and as duh is a reliable person I had no reason to doubt her.

I keep telling you guys: SALOPIAN IS A MERP!

This is one of the greatest performance artist acts I have ever seen: to take attention away from himself, from time to time, he manufactures false "declined reviews" and sometimes "takes issue" with an editorial decision (as if those of us in the know would fall for that bunkum!).

Ever notice that benj (the site creator ... [or so we've been led to believe]) is not even in the top 28 but remains vocal, a virtual "fall guy" for "the man"? Ever notice that Salopian ALSO as an "n" in his name (in fact, two) and ALSO is not in the top 28, but remains vocal and prolific? Coincidence? I THINK NOT! Look at the amount of time he devotes to his task! No one would devote THAT MUCH time to this site unless he had a VESTED INTEREST. I think he even gets paid for his services here.

He's freakin' brilliant, I tell you! That's why you all had better be nice to MY FAVORITE REVIEWER () and generally bestest pal in the world (if you know what's good for you ).

NB: Yes, I can afford to attempt this unmasking because he is so masterful at the guise that no one will believe me.

I don't recall seeing that post or thread so didn't comment on it (if I had seen it I may well have ignored it.) There's no reason why anyone else would contradict it.

I've never seen any post in the fourum where a MERP has owned up to being a MERP or an ex-MERP and I've never made any such post. Plenty have stated that they aren't MERPs though (possibly disinformation).

Most posts in that thread are tongue-in-cheek, including that one.

Who the hell impersonated me??? The person who wrote that scares me. One thing I have in common with Sean is a really crappy memory. My memory is also famed for its creativity. Remember, I'm the person who doesn't have to actually watch movies; all I have to do is sit on my couch and stare at a blank TV screen and imagine them.

Sure they would, if they saw it and realised that it was a mistake. Anyway, don't get your knickers in a twist. You can clearly see that there was a reasonable basis for my thinking what I did.
