Those darn MERPs!!!
I've just had a review accepted for 'Microwave Massacre' - 'Bake my wife, please'. Great.
But just a week or so ago they rejected my review for '100 Ways to Murder Your Wife' - 'Take my wife ... out'
Why did that earlier one get rejected? Well - I got some smart ass comment about the review being factually incorrect because MY wife (the woman I'm married to) isn't in the film.
In fact this is the lastest in a series of smart ass/snotty rejection messages I've had from MERPs. I suppose being a MERP is similar to being a forum moderator ... it tends to attract the sort of people who are least suited for the job. |

MERPs are sweet, kind people who can do no wrong.

That is an extremely silly reason.
(1) There are countless reviews where the first person is used and not the reviewer.
(2) Where it is not expressing an opinion, that actually makes more sense anyway, e.g. the better "I see dead people" puns (of those that keep "I") refer to someone in the film, not the person watching it. |

My thoughts exactly, Salopian.
The comment accompanying the rejection was something along the lines of 'Oh - so your wife was in this film, was she?'
Now I've resubmitted it ... but for some reason reviews that are on their second or third pass seem to take months to get looked at again.
Pah - I think I liked it better when rejections were just accompanied by generic reasons or nothing.
Now I keep imagining some jmped up asshole with a chip on his shoulder because he got bullied at school and ignored by girls ... finally he's got his chance for a little bit of power. We'll all rue the day we laughed at him etc etc etc.

I wanna be a MERP. According to this selection criteria I'm eminently qualified. |
