BaftaBaby
"Always entranced by cinema."

Announcing the nominees. I had to see every one of these, except for the short films, to be able to vote in the three rounds. The rising Star Award is for the public only, not us BAFTA members, nor do we vote for the final of Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. I put a star next to my final choices, even though I'm pretty sure some of them won't win. My own view, as I've stated before, is that at this level it's dancing on a pin-head to say film A is "better" than film B. Enjoy!

I am not in a good position to judge this year, but this seems to me a better selection that the Oscar nominations, where The Road is not even up for Best Cinematography, for example.

Hey, Bafta - we just saw Fish Tank and thought it was very nicely done. More of a character study than a story, but there's that scene where she dances with her mother - perfectly done!
