The Ile de France with all the gulls around it...


The Firm 2009 & The Firm 1988: the former is a recent remake of the latter, a controversial BBC TV film in its time that starred Gary Oldman as white-collar football hooligan Bex Bissel.

In Good, Mortensen plays a liberal professor who is increasingly compromised by Nazism in the 30s & early 40s; his position in the Schutzstaffel, initially honorary, becomes more than that as time passes.

NB:
In "Goodfellas" mob man Henry Hill turns informer.
In "Quiz Show" the answer that Herbie Stempel is not allowed to answer correctly, and thus end his run as the fixed champion of the show, is "Marty".

My first review is a non-racist version of an older review. I would have rather got that review changed, but I know from experience that there is no point trying to persuade people here to exclude offensive vocabulary even though the 'Anything goes in a joke' brigade patently do not apply that philosophy consistently.

In Twilight, vampires only sparkle in sunlight instead of getting killed.

Spoiler here and in the fourth review for A Serious Man: O.K., it's not really a spoiler, but I think it's better to start watching the film without knowing about the boyfriend's death.
