I may as well ask "Why would you make punctuation mistakes?" Well, you just do. There is no point pretending that people will automatically perfectly understand what to do and not do.
Yep, you and me both make such mistakes. But I like to think we all realise how something works/ should be done after seeing the error of our ways.
Well, that would be nice, but you still punctuate in your own idiosyncratic way and people not used to pop-up video will still click off it accidentally. |

Yep- perhaps once and after that you know how it works. |

Another reason to just have external YouTube links is that it would work on the iPhone (and presumably similar devices), which it currently doesn't. |

True, except that other similar (i.e. made in the last few years) devices would work (albeit somewhat cramped)- this would only be a problem for iPhone. I'll add iPhone support to my list anyway |

I just realized something. Since the website is up and running and people are able to now view some black and white movies from the site, why do those movies still have no ratings on this site? |

I've watched loads of them (long before they were listed on the book site) and it's never crossed my mind to score them -- they just haven't piqued my interest enough. |

Jack and the Beanstalk (as linked to from the website) has been deleted from YouTube. |

That's a bugger. Anyone know anywhere else it can be found online? |

It should be Fireman, not Firefighter. I know that the titles of these early films vary, but the I.M.D.B. and YouTube agree on this. I doubt that firefighter was a word then. |

Not me. To prevent this from happening again, I guess it would be prudent to re-upload these movies under an account created for the purpose. That would involve a lot of work though. |

Good idea. And I don't think it would actually be that much work. It's easy to save videos from YouTube now and it's a lot quicker to upload them than it used to be.
Instead of/as well as my F.W.F.R. Cinema, I've thought of creating a single account where all those films are favourites. However, an account where they are actually its own videos would be better. |

I know it's easy to save videos from YouTube but it's also illegal, hence why they don't provide a mechanism for you to do it on their site.
I have to wonder why these films have been removed from YouTube- is it some legal issue? If so, then us having downloaded the video and then re-uploaded it on another account would only be a short-term solution (i.e. until YouTube hoiked said video again). |

Given what Yukon said about those old films being out of copyright, I'd be surprised. It says just "This video has been deleted": I am pretty sure one also gets "This video has been deleted by the user" and I think something like "This video has been deleted for violating terms and conditions", so I wonder what it means. |

And I'd suggest saving all of them now and worrying about the legality if you ever need to re-upload them.
I don't know how American law works, but it's hard to see that YouTube could have much objection to people saving things out of copyright.
You could contact the uploaders instead and ask them for the films/where they got them from. |

I've now done that. |
