Danny Boyle's 127 Hours documents true story of climber whose arm got trapped by huge boulder.
In Blue Valentine a once sweet marriage isn't.
Never Let Me Go follows three students of a very special school where sacrifice is the main lesson.

I'm cuttin' in.
Harry Shearer has one of the top podcasted radio programs, "Le Show", but his earlier work includes portraying Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls who gets stuck in a shell that won't open during the Stonehenge number.
One major difference between Apocalypse Now and it's Redux is an added intimate layover for the boat crew which extends the film's length.
I don't consider any of these spoilers. If you want to see 2000's Autumn In New York and haven't read any reviews, avoid every single review, the trailers, and my FYCs. |

Silents are Golden
NB: "The Manor of the Devil" was directed by Georges Méliès and concerns two soldiers who mistakenly wander into Mephistopheles' abode. Buster Keaton and Virginia Fox attempt to conduct a romance in the yard between their two houses in "Neighbors", and in "The Haunted House" he plays a clerk who pursues a gang of bank robbers to their supposedly haunted hideout. "Haxan", a study of witchcraft and devil worship, was written, directed and starred Danish film-maker Benjamin Christensen. In "City Lights" Chaplin falls in love with a blind flower seller.

Isn't this strange? I have received four votes over three of these F.Y.C. reviews already today. It's almost as if two people didn't vote in the last round in time but didn't own up about it. Surely nobody here would do that?
Salopian, your cynicism is unwarranted. Or, at least, not entirely so. Sometimes people like me who aren't regular participants in the FYCTH will nonetheless visit this thread to spread some voting love, as I did in your case. |

O.K., thank you. Much appreciated (although it's still surprising timing to visit the links of a round after it has finished). However, as demonic has also noted in the past, this has happened really quite often so I think it would be too generous to put all such cases down to kind lurkers such as yourself.

Ahhh, lured out of the shadows... hi Gentleman Ghost. Care to join us for this round? I see you've been busily reviewing over the last few weeks - I've sent you some new year's votes. |
