We used to be in on the joke. Now I really believe the filmmakers are laughing their asses off, saying, "I can't believe they're going to pay to see this again." There's a preposterous scene near the end when Sidney says, just as I was thinking the same thing, "This is silly," or "This is stupid." The filmmakers knew it and they said, "aah, leave it. If one of the characters says it, it's OK." No, it's still bad and I feel hoodwinked. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing wasn't stupid, and some was entertaining and scary, but I'm insulted when I think about that being their response to something they knew was senseless. 2.5/5 fwiffs |

Agree 100%. This production was absolutely unnecessary, like remakes of THE THING, FOOTLOOSE, PSYCHO, HALLOWEEN, etc. The arch irony has now worn completely off [actually, it was last effective in #2] and all you have left is another slasher. The only redeeming value is the first ten minutes, after which you can take your popcorn and go home; you won't have missed a thing. |

I watched it and was slightly amused. I think we are still in on the joke. Sydney also stated "When making a remake(sequel), you don't fuck with the original." I highly believe that!"
I don't think the movie was pointless. Scream fans were probably wondering what has become of the character 10 years later. I do believe this was the last one. But I probably though that of the Final Destination franchise. |
