I was listening to an interview with Dame Judi Dench on the way home from work this evening, and the subject of the next Bond movie was touched upon. All that DJD would say is that she and Daniel Craig were in it, and that Sam Mendes will be directing.
According to IMDb, a few more names are rumoured/announced.
If you were casting, who would you like to see in the frame as the next Bond villain(s)? For me, I'd like to see Liam Neeson in the frame, alongside Bruno Ganz.
Your thoughts? |

I did a whole article on this subject. On re-reading it, my idea of getting Goran Visnjic is sounding better than ever - especially after his playing a baddie in the TV show "Leverage". |

A female baddie would be a really interesting idea. Has there ever been a female Bond nemesis (as in, running the whole gig, not just a henchwoman)- I can't think of any. It'd make an interesting premise if Bond wooed some chick, only to find out this was actually part of her bigger plan.
If it could be done in the new, grittier style, bringing back an old baddie could be a nice trick. Christopher Lee is still kicking around at least. Or how about getting Connery in and telling him not to do what he did in The Avengers? |

Hm... from IMDb it looks like Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes have been signed to this movie, but no parts have been revealed. Apparently, they did get Naomie Harris to play Moneypenny, however.
Which reminds me - No Bond Girl has been announced yet... |

I don't think there's any danger of Natalie Portman turning down such a role because she might not be taken seriously post-Oscar. She was in Thor for cripe's sake...
I have to admit I don't get Milla Jovovich. Does she have the looks to be a Bond girl? And yes, I know she started as a model, but I always felt that was because she has a distinct look rather than is startlingly beautiful (IMO anyway).
Talking of startlingly beautiful... Monica Bellucci? Yes! Yes! Yes!
BTW, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Megan Fox's agent has had a call from EON pictures now that she's out of the Transformers franchise. |

Actually, I do think Jovovich has the look of a Bond girl.
Glad you liked my idea of Monica Bellucci.
What about Julia Ormond as another idea?
As for Megan Fox... hm... not so sure. She's a bit too... WASP American to play a Bond girl for my tastes. |

Hmm... is there an age limit to Bond girls. If so, I'm thinking Julia Ormond would probably be pushing the upper limit.

Well, she's not really to my taste either but since they've given Denise Richards the gig in the past, I wouldn't be so hasty to write off Fox.
Fills me with dread to suggest it, but IKEA Knightley could be another possible.
A couple more that spring to mind: Emily Blunt or Jennifer Lawrence. |

Is 40 too old? You could do worse than Emily Mortimer. The IMDb photos don't really do her justice. |

Sophie Marceau was that in whichever Brosnan one it was - World is Not Enough? She shared duties with Robert Carlyle, but she was the one calling the shots. That might be a spoiler, but it was a cack film, so it doesn't really matter. |

She's younger than Monica Bellucci (who turns 47 this year). Not that I'd say no to either of them.

You know, real beauty is timeless, and I think that because Craig is so... craggy looking (not to mention that he's 47 himself), I don't think age should come into it.

True, but this is Hollywood we're talking here. There's never going to be a Bond film where they go "You know, I think we should have Bond boinking someone his own age or older" |

Good point. Monica Bellucci as the next Bond villain then! |
