You all know me by now as not being the most... well... person who's attention to detail could be better :-)

But on watching this movie I was pleased that the filmmakers stuck to the spirit of Tintin, a mixture of intrigue and slapstick humour that makes up the many stories of the investigative reporter.

The animation was the first element that struck me as maybe a little bit creepy. But after a few minutes I was sucked into the enjoyment of the story.

Spielberg has infused a little of Indiana Jones and more than a pinch of Film Noir into Jackson's imagining of Tintin. Noe of this takes away from how the character comes alive.

I wasn't blown away by the movie but I look forward to the sequels.

I read this yesterday in the Guardian. He had a different view.

I'll be seeing it of course, I'm a total Tintin fanboi from years ago (must've read them all 10 times each).

Yes, he gets paid to review, on the other hand I brought my inner teenager who reviewed it, as well, with typos and all ;-)

Here is a slightly longer review by me and my inner teenager... http://beanmimo.wordpress.com/2011/10/29/the-adventures-of-tintin-and-where-the-sea-used-to-be/
