It got me to thinking that one of the fun things about this site is there are so many goals to strive for.
When I started, it was to get a review in the top 100 but I now know that's impossible unless you've been on this site for years. So, I'm trying to get 2,000 approvals by Dec. 31. My long-term goal is to have my first page all filled with 20-vote reviews.
What's everyone else shooting for? |

Nicely said, your Pope-ship.
My "goals":
- Along Lemmy's line, to get to a point where I stop caring enough about ranking and volume to dump or refine all of those with deservedly no votes. In my case, I think this is approaching 1000 reviews and would take about 3 days.
- to do the same with my massive pile of rejects (I think it's over 700 now).
- to convince someone, anyone, to take over hosting the Haiku game.
- to get a review in the Top 100 (I'm barely in the Top 200 with my Star Wars FWFR). (You can help).
- to understand my own puns before deleting those no-voters... example, this one just had me stumped for about a minute. To log on, just click it.

Another 'short-term' goal is finishing all the Essential Movies accolades - been working on that one for a few months. Also, reaching 200 accolades seems to be on the horizon.
Earlier in the year it was a goal of mine to reach Movie Deity by 2007. That doesn't seem to be happening, so I'll settle for Movie Deity by the end of the school year (April 2007).
Long-term, I'm hoping to reach top 20 someday, and maybe stay there once I get there. We'll see how it goes. |

Well, I've helped you as much as I can - for now. Until you get some new reviews up on the site, I just can't help you anymore.

Posted - 11/01/2006 : 02:29:49 When I started, I wanted to be in the top 5. I would have been with the number I have now, so I've achieved it in my mind.
Now I don't mind, I have so little time for the site. One day soon, though, I'll be back and shooting for no. 1
Also maybe a Gold Deity before I'm like 21. Gives me 3 years, so it's realistic enough I guess... |

Sprinkled a few votes your way as well BB. I'd give you more but I have already voted for 90 per cent of your reviews. |

Well, you are now over 20 votes per review. |

Here's BiggerBoat nipping at Slippy's heels.
You don't even have to include his link - having a couple of reviews in the top 100 does for you in votes what being a Senator in the Republican party does for your bank balance. |

Not quite sure how it happened, but you should check your stats - I had voted for a lot already, but still found enough more gems to put you over the top. |

Posted - 10/31/2006 : 22:47:58 I try to keep my zeroes to a minimum (currently just 11 or 99.21% with 1 or more)- I have some stinkers from early on that I could smithee - but I'm just not strong enough.
I am working towards 2000 reviews though have had a few big lapses so won't happen in 2006. Another longer term goal is to raise my average vote total to 6 or higher - currently at 5.27 |
