Dear Santa Clews:

What I want for Christmas is a list of the top 20 vote-getting reviews of films released in 2006. I have been a very good boy. Can you deliver these before Xmas so we can send them on to local media types?

I promise to leave you spiked egg nog and homemade shortbread.

Thank you
R.G.

It was in reference to Yukon discovering that he's famous.

No sure if Downtown's comment is in reference to Yukon's praise of my amateur PR skills or in reference to Yukon's professor. I remember that story. The guy taught at Ryerson, if I recall, and was well over 60! Prostitution is one area where I think manditory retirement should definitely remain in effect.

Don't let it go to your head.

I've not submitted it anywhere yet. To be honest, I wouldn't know where to start

That's the first I've heard of it. I know they run (or ran) a weekly competition and made no mention (that I could find), but I'm kind of used to it by now.

P.S. We got a mention of Sky's movie quiz programme Popcorn this week. We were the ad break quiz "What film is 'Wolf in Streep's clothing.'?" (Yukon's 'Devil Wears Prada' review) and we got a 'With thanks to fwfr.com' on the end credits (which no-one watches as evidenced by the lack of change in site hits around that time). Still, it was a new experience for me

Wow, I'm famous in England?

This is almost as good as the time I was interviewed by BBC Radio for a story about my university journalism professor who got in hot water for saying that he supports adults having sex with 10 year olds. Then it was revealed he was a male prostitue. (Believe it or not, I'm not making that up.)

P.S. Your PR skills are great Rockgolf!

There seems to be a point to this. I just got a letter from CBC's Free Style program indicating that they used several of the year's top FWFR's on Friday's show.

Does my Devil Wears Prada review qualify?

Yeah! Forward it to the media. Maybe RogerEbert.com might bite. They published something about us before and they seemed starved for content since Roger has been absent for so long.

Touche. But it's actually the outright top vote-getter now with one more vote...I swear to God it really wasn't me!

Of course it's not so important anyway because people can use whatever reviews they want when promoting FWFR.

Ummm...should it bother me that on the film where I was tied for first, you only chose one of the two reviews, with mine being the one you excluded?

Here's the list for those films, based on BoxOfficeMojo.com:

1 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - High Seaquel.
2 Cars - Car 'toon.
3 X-Men: The Last Stand - Pryde and Prejudice.
4 The Da Vinci Code - Hanks: You've Got Grail.
5 Superman Returns - Lois Lane's no Kidder.
6 Ice Age: The Meltdown - Latifah has mammoth butt.
7 Over the Hedge - Bruce Willis: Die Yard.
8 Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - Ferrell's Daze of Thunder.
9 Happy Feet - Dance of the Penguins.
10 Click - Man-of-pause.
11 Mission: Impossible III - Cruise, Hoffman. No autism.
12 Casino Royale - 'Royale' without cheese.
13 The Devil Wears Prada - Wolf in Streep's clothing.
14 Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - Borat misunderkazakhstanding.
15 The Departed - Ratt Damon.
16 The Break-Up - Ex-Friend. No benefits.
17 Scary Movie 4 - Four scare, seven years.
18 Failure to Launch - Mockingbird CPR really works!
19 Inside Man - Buried a-Clive.
20 Open Season - Lawrence's Boog bear-ly funny.

Some have very few votes. #20 has only 2.

Yes, I agree. I also think it would be better to use just one review for each film.
