Do you have a couple reviews that you think haven't gotten the attention they deserve? Which are they?

There are no real rules for what defines "underrated." If it's got zero votes and you think it should have gotten at least 5, that's fine. If it has 50 votes and you think it deserved 100, you can list that. It's up to you what you consider "underrated." But let's keep it to just a handful of reviews that you think got lost in the noise and didn't get the recognition they should have. I can think of a couple of my own, but I'd rather see someone else's first.

I realize there are other threads for promoting your own reviews, but they all have rules. So this one is a little different. Listing a few of your own reviews here does not obligate you to go and vote for anybody else's...although everyone is always encouraged to do so.

Bernie I like the web based review

and another one from me!! Scrooged... Murrays character is called Frank Cross (and he has a blown up 'dictionary' definition of the word cross in his office...a thing for nailing people to,)

I always thought that the first of these two was not appreciated. You have to get the 'Austin' reference which is made obvious in the second review.

Nice!! I miss the childlike wonder with which i used to sit cross legged infront of the TV watching the Bionic Man and his slo-mo speed and strength.

I don't usually explain 'em, but you asked nicely, so...

RASHOMON is a famous film by Akira Kurosawa in which the events surrounding a killing are related by [I think] five different people, so you get five different versions of the same occurrence.

GO uses the same unusual format: three different people describe what happens after a drug deal, and it's recreated three times. So it's essentially RASHOMON, only about drugs.

"Hash" is short for "hashish," which doesn't really figure into the movie at all, but it's a common expression connoting the "drug culture." "Hash" rhymes with "rash," so I just had to change one little letter, and I was very proud of myself. Worth your vote?

[These reviews are just like magic tricks: when you explain 'em, they tend to lose their charm.]

It was worth my vote!

Well I'm glad I'm not planning to be a pastor or I'd end up back at Movie Goer.

Ha ha!

I totally agree. I just meant that I feel people ought to actually delete reviews that are inappropriate. (I don't mean yours as an example of this.) Smitheed reviews still exist just the same, except the writers are then protected from being asked about them.

I've often pondered removing it because of it's bad taste (which isn't like me in the first place) but doing that would just give another to Smithee and I know you don't want that. :)

Yes, please do not do that. I don't get why people Smithee reviews they are uncomfortable with - as if it absolves them. Your review is not too bad taste, so you shouldn't worry about it - there are many far worse than that.
