Posted - 05/04/2008 : 02:54:05 Wow! I've just had my Iron Man review rejected for the reason 'Too strong a reference to The Big Lebowski'!
Does this mean all rejections will now explain specifically why they were turned down? Does it also mean weak references to other movies are acceptable?
I feel like I've missed some recent big development with the site ... and I'll bet it's a reponse to all the grumblings about the MERPS.
Can someone enlighten me?

Posted - 05/04/2008 : 08:48:18 Dude! That's got Lebowski all over it. I was just about to go into a full-fledged rant about how all the MERPs should be killed, but now ....
Well, it seems the MERP process is working: I understood and voted for the revised review. |

The one that got rejected was 'Dude does not abide'
I'm not surprised they binned it - I was just surprised by the super-specific rejection reason.

Posted - 05/04/2008 : 06:04:44 "Obediah gets Stark mad"? How does that refer to Lebowski??? (I voted for your review, by the way.) Unless it was originally something like "Dude gets Stark mad." I could see a reference in that and could see arguments both ways, but I'd probably recommend that for approval. |

The wording you got is a bit odd, but if "This review is overly reliant on knowledge of another film" fits, then it might be fair. |
