2. Why are reviews for movies not yet released allowed?
Both of these points seem to defy the convention of "film review". Film reviewers don't write multiple reviews of the same movie unless, perhaps, they write for multiple publications. Additionally, there is a review of Harry Potter 7, Pt. 2 approved today. That movie isn't out until 2011.
I realize that the site is more akin to the "Four Word Film Summary" than "Review", but there should be a line drawn somewhere. No one can even be sure if certain plot elements will be contained within the final cut of movie that hasn't been released yet.

Don't get hung up on the word "review" This is more like the four word film joke/pun site.
I usually write more than one review per movie because there are some many jokes to make. Take my favourite gay cowboy moive -- Here are six funny/punny reviwes I wrote for Brokeback Mountain. http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&id=8668&Mode=&Rows=10&Start=1&do= 2) Howdy life partner!
Heh! Always gets me that one. So fucking funny. One of my favourites.
Ah , to have a favorite gay, cowboy movie. Not many outside this site can claim that.
For another perspective on the greatest gay cowboy flick ever put to film...
Although... anything with John wayne usually puts me in mind of guy-on-guy action. The duke definitely swung many ways... I'm sure somebody here knew him in some capacity, and will accordingly set me straight |

Sorry, friend - I've just turned 51 years old, so I don't have that type of time.
Anyway, many people submit more than one review for a film simply because they're not sure which ones will be accepted and which ones won't. Sometimes more than one is okayed and sometimes none of them are. |

Roger Ebert's first review of The Graduate for the Chicago Sun-Times
Roger Ebert's second review of The Graduate for the Chicago Sun-Times
My first review of The Day After Tomorrow
My second review of The Day After Tomorrow
If I had a smilie of a guy nonchalantly whistling, I'd use it here.

Oh, I think he gets it.

I'm just dipping my toes into this pond, so it may take me a while to become fully acclimated.

Yes, the prospect of being invited to vote on 700+ reviews in 24 hours might have been a little too intense for a first post response.

Posted - 07/11/2008 : 18:48:51 Ahhhh, there was a time, not so long ago, when I held myself to the idealistic standards proposed by WAldenIV. Now, I don't even pretend; I'm as greedy and manipulative as all the other slobs(I throw that term around lovingly) in fourum, pimping ourselves out shamelessly for an occasional vote.
Votes are like freakin' crack around here, and the more reviews I put out there for the general public to see, same film or not, the better my chances of scoring my next 'rock'
Hey, has anybody seen my pipe?! |
