I've just created Get The Picture all of which films feature cameras, photographers, or something to do with filmmaking. [NB: I never realized how many of these there are -- and I've still got another 18 unaddeds in my pending pile.]
Have I missed any major films -- no more docos or tv ones, tho.
Your pikkie help much appreciated. BTW ... the animated trophy is wery weird
TIA!

Thanks, Sal ... this was on my list to add as I recently saw it [quite disappointed, actually; kept wishing Bean had just a couple of extra charm genes ]
Will also add Candy, and thanks for that, too!

Would also qualify for Salopian's fourth wall accolade, the precise title of which escapes me.
Thanks - going to the link has also shown me this keyword, which will help complete that accolade. |

A great film. Slapstick meets Pirandello.
Ooh, yes! Many thanks, Lem ... 'tis in! I remember going to see it when I was a kid and laughing till my sides literally ached! There used to be a row of movie theaters lining each side of 42nd Street in NYC, each one devoted to a different genre; re-runs that played over and over all day long -- this was way before they became soft porn houses. One showed only westerns 24 hours a day, another only thrillers, and one showed only comedies. That was where I saw Chick and Ole, and the Marx Bros, and lotsa Chaplin. My comedy kindergarten!

Autofocus, about Bob Crane? His obsession with pornography (film and photo) and his involvement in it is the core of the film.
Oh, yes! I really liked that film too ... Kinnear was excellent, imho!
I think he is a great actor. As he is getting older he is getting better acting roles. Too funny and cute in his youth or something

Now -- at 81 films, is anyone gonna develop dis picture?
I find accolades over about 10 movies far too daunting just at the moment |

And what about "La Dolce Vita"??
Whipper ... I know I said I'd add this, but have been re-thinking and just did a bit of checking. Marcello plays a gossip columnist and he's not making a film, nor is a film being made about him -- unless I'm really mis-remembering. I think Fellini's main themes involve the anomie engendered by a the trivialization of a culture and how the antidote lies beneath that froth in the 'fountain' of real human connection.
I can see the case for 8, which is already on the list ... but remind me of the camera-connection for this. Please.
I take it you mean the case for LDV, as the case for Eight And A Half is undeniable.
OK, so like Neptune, I'm gonna try a three-pronged attack:
1. Paperazzo et al. They were so noticeable at the time that the character Paperazzo's name became THE word for a photographer who chases after the rich and famous to take menaningless or intrusive photographs. This in itself would be qualification enough, but...
2. The whole Anita Ekberg thing (), US movie star. A movie star playing a movie star.
3. The long episode where two small kids obviously invent an apparition of the Virgin. A vital part of the perpetuation of the ridiculous is the film crews.
In conclusion, the depiction of the creation of vacuous, vicarious or specious, in the form of photography, filming and stardom, are critical to the film's central theme of superficiality and meaningless.
