Capitalisation is needed here. I am mentioning this rather than amending it myself in order to highlight that the auto-capitalisation rules obviously omit accented letters. |

In fact - French titles only capitalize the first word, unless it is someone's name. So for accuracy, the title is correct on imdb: Les pes de diamants

I know. And English titles do not capitalize minor function words. Benj follows his own style, not either of those. |

I'm not sure if this is the right thread but it's about correcting film titles. I have an accolade I use to keep all the films I see in a year and whenever the film isnt on fwfr I add it. The problem is with certain foreign films they are listed in their original titles on imdb and when I look back over the year I have no idea of the film unless I go in an click on the imdb link. Is there a way to have certain titles changed to their more common English names? The ones I need changing are as follows. Those on the left, before the years are how they are listed on fwfr, to the right their more common name. If I have chosen the wrong place to list this then maybe someone can give me a point in the right direction
Hadaka no shima (1960) Naked Island Matka Joanna Od Aniolw (1961) Mother Joan of the Angels Bian Cheng San Xia (1966) The Magnificent Trio O Slavnosti A Hostech (1966) The Party and the Guests Fang Shiyu Yu Hong Xiguan (1974) Heroes Two Shen Tui Tie Shan Gong (1977) Snuff Bottle Connection Varjoja Paratiisissa (1986) Shadows in Paradise Ji Dong Ji Xia (1989) The Iceman Cometh Tulitikkutehtaan Tytt (1990) The Match Factory Girl Pid Huivista Kiinni, Tatjana (1994) Take Care of Your Scarf, Tatiana Wu Qingyuan (2006) The Go Master

This is the right place, although it would have been a lot easier if you had linked to the films' pages here or at least to your accolade. However, I'll go and amend them now. |

Do you feel confident about this one being on the box/poster? The I.M.D.B. has it as 'undefined' and has a different U.S. title. |

When I saw this in the late 60s here in North America, it's title was "A Report on the Party and the Guests". |

Hi I'm not sure. In the UK it has been released by Second Run DVD under the name The Party and the Guests though I am aware that it has a couple of names. This is the problem I imagine when translating titles from other languages. In the future Salopian I will remember to add links, and thanks again

Benj, I'm not keen on the lower case here. I.M.O., that is typographic styling (like the logos of The Word or the band Oasis), not something inherent in the name that transfers to neutral text. However, I don't want to just unilaterally change it. |
