Four oldies & a newbie.
Semi-required explanations: Glen or Glenda The classic Ed Wood transvestite story where the emotional climax is Wood's girlfriend taking off her angora sweater and giving it to him to wear.
Running on Empty River Phoenix plays a teen whose family has been escaping the law for decades.
Antarctica Did you know that "Eight Below" is a remake? It was originally an apparently huge Japanese hit movie which was marketed here under the less-than-helpful continental title shown. Sort of like naming "Brokeback Mountain" as "North America" or "The Sound of Music" as "Europe". In Japan, the movie became the most successful of all-time, domestic or foreign to that point (1983). |

A hill of obscure beans
Sheriff Lobo was a character in "BJ and the Bear". If you like my pun, there are some others.
In "Blackboards", a teacher marries and divorces before completing his journey through a Kurdish pass.
"Altered States": Wm. Hurt's cellular structure is altered from experiments with drugs and an isolation tank, and the next morning there's a dead goat at the local zoo.

Skipped a couple of rounds, but I'm back with five more:

P.S. A Nuclear family is a traditional family with two parents and their offspring, as distinct from an extended family. The "Nuclear" family in "Hills" is a family that has been exposed to nuclear testing.
P.P.S. Or, as George Bush would say, to Nucular testing. |

I suppose I might as well get back into this. I stopped at around 3 votes so I'll start going down again from 4.
Edit: Having just read dhannah's post, I thought I would instead of having all 4s throw in a similar review of mine. It unfortunately did not get through as the better "Nuclear family, not war". |

Five of my newest.
Thanks go to all those who voted for my humble offerings last time. I relished all 30 of those tender morsels of humanity and kindness. |

Accidentally voted, a little early. Sorry about that.
Next time I promise I'll drag it out more so it's better for you... |
