This is about the sign '/' in a review. When using it won't the whole thing be considered one word? Or is it 2 words??

"Joe turns it On/Off."
"Goldilocks eats it Hot/Cold."
"Twoface is really Happy/Sad."
"Hair needs a Cut/Trim."

There is a show in the states called Nip/Tuck. It looks like a one word title. What do you think? I been told its 2 words. But has this been a problem beofore? Or is this just being made a call?

I don't think there's any grammitical support for the slash as a conjoiner. In the examples sited, all could and probably should be rewritten with a comma & space. To my mind, two words. Other opinions?

Benj (correctly) will have the last word on this but to my mind there is a difference between just randomly inserting a "/" between two words and expressions such as "AC/DC" which seem to operate as a single word.

They're all two words, but since the forward slash is read as an 'or' you're effectively getting a three-for-the-price-of-two deal

With regards to names (e.g. Nip/Tuck), it's up for debate. Brand names frequently flaunt correct grammar for their own purposes, so in those cases the best resource for deciding if it's two words or one is the official website itself.

Actually, I always thought that / stands for "and/or" and not just "or". So, if you use it in a review, you're getting four for the price of two!

If '/' always = 'and/or' then it = 'andand/oror' = 'andandand/ororor' and so on ad infinitum!

So, the actual title of that Travolta/Cage sillyfest was "Face and/or Off"? And that Mickey Rourke stayed with Kim Basinger for "Nine one and/or two weeks"?

How bout a game to come up with the most disjointed pair of words cobbled together with a "/"? The next person has to use the item to the right of the /.
