Nice work, demonic! Have voted appropriately.

Keep reviewing, keep voting, and keep posting! This fourum is great, it's the first forum anywhere where I've felt comfortable posting more than two or three times.

BTW, I also feel uncomfortable whoring for votes. That's why you need to start doing FYC. Everybody votes for everybody, so you don't feel like you're standing out.

Demonic,

I'm already jealous of most of your reviews, well done and keep them coming!!!!

I especially like "It's a Wonderful Knife" for Crocodile Dundee, it made me laugh out loud...

I have splashed your pages with my voting bucket.

Congrats Demo, I looked at the top reviews of the day and you held 19 out of 20 spots. Good work!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments and the votes! Pretty great to sign in one day with 80 odd reviews on 0 and come back the next and find voting frenzies going on. Awesome!

I'm glad I've fallen in with a bunch of movie whores, I figured I'd fit in alright here...

I will be going through collections as promised... in some cases Randall, Foxboy, Lemmy I can see that's going to take an entire weekend.

I think the accolade system is a fantastic idea BTW - brings out the Boy Scout in me collecting badges and awards - must get this review approved for my little blue trophy!! I've compiled one already, and I've got some ideas for more so I'll be adding a few in the next few weeks.

Oh, a big hello to all the fellow Brits.

I don't think anyone will be expecting you to read thousands of their reviews (although I'm sure they wouldn't complain! )

The 'normal' procedure here for reciprocal voting visits (there are no 'rules' of course, just tradition and practicality) is to read a page of a user's reviews, that's 100 reviews. That's what I do, anyway. Otherwise it could quickly get out of hand, as you say, a voting frenzy would take a whole weekend!

And keep the excellent reviews coming, I really like your punderful style.

Don't worry about shameless self promotion in the Fourum. I quickly learned that everone in Fourum is a vote whore so don't be shy. Feel free to beg for votes.

It's easy, look:

P.S. Dalmalc, are you really a sports writer? I was a sports writer at a newspaper for 10 years until I made the switch to entertainment a few months ago.

damalc is really a sports writer. covered the state basketball championships the last couple of weekends. (i'm about to go off-topic here.)
watching the highlight films from the tournaments on the jumbo screen in the arena and watching the joy and pain of the players made me remember why i got in the biz. that and the fact thay my athletic ability peaked in about 10th grade. it really inspired me. i sat at courtside thinking 'these players deserve to have their stories told right.'

P.S.
and damalc really loves martinis too.

Where may we read something you've written?

Your comment reminded me of why I hate most local sports reports. They are so dry--usually focus on the scores, and the local sports geeks who do the local news sports just looooooooove sports so much.

Yet, I find ESPN radio and television usually quite interesting.

I think the difference may have to do with writers like yourself who want to tell the athletes' stories "right".

Just a under-stimulated cranium and too much time on my hands.

Thousands Watch Tyson Train for Friday's Bout
Former Champion Is Still One of the Biggest Draws in Boxing

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 28) -- Despite past legal troubles, bankruptcy and some bizarre fights, Mike Tyson showed Tuesday he is still one of the biggest draws in boxing.

A few thousand fans packed downtown's Fourth Street Live entertainment district to see the former heavyweight champ work out for his Friday night bout against Danny Williams.

Tyson, who has not fought in 17 months, is trying to earn another shot at the heavyweight crown. He is still probably the No. 2 attraction in the sport, behind Oscar De La Hoya, trainer Freddie Roach said.

''Once Mike gets active again and shows that he means business, he'll be back on top,'' Roach said.

Williams, who is British, worked out before Tyson and drew token applause. The crowd roared as Tyson made his way to the outdoor ring. Fans pressed to get closer, looking for autographs and photos, but police held them at bay.

''This is what it's about,'' promoter Chris Webb said, grinning. ''This is what I wanted.''

A few lucky fans got what they wanted, too, as Tyson shook hands and signed autographs after his workout.

Tyson, 38, served three years in prison for rape, has a bankruptcy reorganization plan pending in New York and once bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear in a fight.

That didn't stop Latoyia Lackey from having her picture taken hugging Tyson as he was hustled away, through a still-under-construction bowling alley.

''He's like a legend,'' Lackey said, wearing Tyson's sweat on her shirt. ''I don't normally get excited, but I was excited.''

Roach said his fighter was overwhelmed by the support.

''Everywhere we go it's the same way,'' Roach said. ''At first he didn't want to be here because he was a little embarrassed. He said, 'What are all these people here? For me?'''

Tyson (50-4, 44 KO) worked out for three rounds with trainer Roach, who wore padded mitts for his fighter to punch. The crowd ''oohed'' and ''aahed'' as Tyson threw combinations, making the gloves pop.

Williams (31-3, 26 KO) did a similar routine, sparring with his trainer, Jim McDonnell, and did some sit-ups and jumped rope. He seemed to take it a little easier than Tyson, working more on technique.

Roach estimated Tyson's effort at about 90 percent.

''He's a fighter and he's a performer,'' Roach said. ''He likes to show his stuff.''

Undercard fighter Ulises Solis (18-0-1, 13 KO) of Mexico also had a short workout. Solis will challenge Puerto Rican Nelson Dieppa (20-1-2, 12 KO) for the WBO flyweight title Friday.

Also defending a title on the nine-match card will be WIBA super middleweight champion Laila Ali (17-0, 14 KO), daughter of Muhammad Ali, who is from Louisville. She will take on Monica Nunez (9-1, 5 KO).

Not an intentional copy I assure you! I'm guessing Yukon got there first. They do say "great minds"...
