Do you have a review thats almost the top voted review for a certain movie? Why not hold an election and find out the true winning review of that movie. Carful not to sling too much mud. Have your election commercial here:

The Movie Cool Runnings

My Fellow FWFRers. Corduroy Pillow has the highest review with "Icy Sled People" But my "High-Speed Dread People" is trailing behind. Dont you think My review is funnier. If My review wins....I will send more votes all around. Please vote for my review. I am TitanPa and I approve this message.

Personally I don't find "I C..." reviews to be that snappy.
So my call for the bestest there goes to that way underrated of boneman's - "Bunch of total lugers."

Sorry, I am with Rabid on this one, the 'I see' pun is very overdone, and both reviewers have much better reviews than these two.

I disowned my 'I see wed people' review when it hit 20 reviews - it embarrassed me too much

Hhmmm, perhaps I'd better not get into this one again, but out of it being deleted, me having it, you having it and it being disowned, the latter is by far the option I least wanted to happen.

I've voted on both, but I prefer C.P.'s.

Well, if you're holding an election debate between us, here's my platform:

My fellow voting public (ahem) ... Several years and four scores ago, my review made a big, icy splash, likely because it was something of a first. It was not the first review to pun "I see dead people" -- a certain "icy dead people" review for Titanic did that -- but that review was holding the top spot at the time, and my review was a pun off it. Everyone knew and loved the first review, so it was clear I wasn't trying to pass mine off as an original pun, but rather an inside (site-wide) joke. Reviews at the time often punned famous expressions, names, film titles, etc., but not too many (if any) punned off the sayings of the fwfr world, even though (and I delighted in this part) everyone would get it. Though my review doesn't seem very funny (even to me) now ... at the time, I think the surprise of it made it funny to the voting public who gave it a generous boost. Of course, when that took off, there was a flurry of "I see ..." reviews and we were quickly on the slow road to perdition. So yeah, my review stinks because it started a horrible trend. But I don't think it should be bumped down for another "I see ..." -- especially one that wasn't the first or second for that movie.

That is my platform. That is all.

kisses babies.

I committed electoral fraud and voted for both a long time ago (according to the Voted tab, I don't remember either of them). On the whole I've had enough of the ISDP puns (or butchered-contrived pseudo-puns as most written in the last couple of years are) and am rather unlikely to vote for them these days, unless they're somehow clever, (e.g., someone finds a perfect ISDP homophone that everyone else has missed for the last three years). So, when it comes to ISDP puns:-

I feel dread, people!

That would never pass these days. It would have to be about the most generic review on the site.

Future "I see..." puns, unless they represent something vital that all of us have missed [unlikely], should be relegated to the ashbin right alongside future lazy, much-too-easy "-umentary" usages, most of which aren't even close to being puns on the word "documentary."

Yes, others like it have already been approved, why not mine, blah blah blah. The reason? Because we have officially run each of these jokes into the ground, folks. Kudos to CP for being the first one to try an "I see..." riff as an inside gag; my vote goes for that originality.

What he said. I've just voted for CP, giving her a margin of three votes (38 - 35).

My goodness me. Things are getting tense. Back to the studio.

I shouldnt have used an "I see..." pun as a first election. I know it has been used too much. But C Pillow is right. She did use the pun first...even before the pun became old. I concede defeat. Vote how you like. Maybe soone will find a better election to do.

The generic rule was already in full force when I sneaked it through - and I was surprised at the time that it got in. In fact - and he's still narked by it 2 years later - Salopian had already had the same review declined for the same film before I had mine accepted. But hey, if I had a review for every time I saw someone else get one of my declined reviews approved, I'd have, well, more reviews

Rovark's Big Blue review.

This is one of the first reviews on the site that I remembered and loved.

If you want my opinion VOTE for Rovark's
Deep-breath taking.
Deep, breath-taking.

After contributing a handful of ICDP reviews myself I can only say that there are close plays on recognised titles or expressions and dubious versions which are one step too far away from the original. I have had an 'I see' pending for months so I think that Benj must be getting bored with them too. I have a healthily voted 'I see' pun so that category is satisfied for me now. I didn't realise that Corduroy Pillow's icy sled was the first double pun of the much voted 'Icy Dead People' so I have voted for it. TitanPa I liked yours too and had it preceded CP's it would have got my vote.

Josh you appear to have steered a new "Vote for me because I'm trailing the leader." thread to a "Vote for my friend/personal favourite which is already leading." After a rather surprising first election campaign this could all get very confusing. As far as your nominated film is concerned I agree that Rovark has a tasty review but I would rather see a recently approved starter top the menu.
