Certain powerful local interests want his land for a dam but Dirk says "Damn you" or words to that effect and gets in a drilling team who drill and drill and drill and drill and just as they are about to flood the land they strike... oil! Oh, and then Dirk sees some Canadian doctors who say there's nothing wrong with you now Dirk, you're gonna live!! Hence my review...

Which tells you something about Canadian doctors (and NHS)!

As usual, no helpful tips. If you get it you get it; if you don't you don't.

I've been Christmas shopping today, so naturally I'm past caring.

Why do I have the feeling that I'll be the only one posting to that round?

(In Israel, we will be working on both December 25th and January 1.)

Fortunately I'm not reliant on the office computer; I'll be around. That's at least two of us. But my kids no longer wake me at an unearthly hour on Christmas Day, so it probably won't be early.

Well, I'll be early (and probably start the thread).

Say, Koli, I was also thinking about doing a review with that scene from Casino Royale. What a great bit that was to watch!

(Got everyone so far!)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

We are currently under two-feet-plus of snow here in Colorado. Had to shovel these reviews out from under the frozen flakes - hopefully you'll warm up to them.

One note on an obscure film:

Broken Rainbow is about how the U.S. gov't forced the Hopi Indians off of their ancestral homeland, and there is little hope of them regaining their land.

Inspired by Ali's previous comments I'd like to submit the following for your consideration.

FYC #259

Notes: William Shakespeare, an English Playwright of the 16th/17th Century (Elizabethan to Jacobean periods) wrote a play called "Hamlet". Considered the pinnacle of his dramatic writing it concerns the prevarication of a young prince attempting to avenge the murder of his father. It has been filmed a lot of times. Here are five of them.

Some further comments -

Marianne Faithfull played Ophelia opposite Nicol Williamson's Hamlet.

Olivier's version dispenses entirely with the characters of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern

Derek Jacobi played the Dane in the BBC TV version.

I hope that clears that up.

Hey folks, back after a bit of a break! College and blog have taken over my life lately, but it's christmas holidays, hoo-rah!

Celebrate with me by voting here! Meantime, I'm off to do some treasure huntin'

[Edit]
Viewed and Voted to here, liked Chazbo's Malcolm X and Sludge's ROTJ.. I thought all the good ones were taken for that one dammit!!

And a note to whoever found 'The Sex Life of Jesus': well done you!
