The MERPs and I are cheerfully disagreeing over this review of John Wayne Bobbit Uncut:

The munificent sever.

It was first rejected as similar to another review, and it does look similar to "The Magnificent Sever," but munificent is a totally different word, meaning "generous." I resubmitted with the explanation that Bobbit ended up making money from his severed sausage, thus making it a munificent sever. The second rejection came back "factually incorrect." The last two rejections have been without explanation.

I think I've grown too attached (pun intended) to this review, so I am seeking your objective opinions. Should this be accepted? Please give me your two bits worth (pun intended).

Let it go free. If it doesn't come back it was never...

Wait! Wrong philosophy. Quit beating a dead snake.

I'd let it go too.

Calling the event of his penis severing "generous" makes little sense to me.

How about maleficent? - harmful or evil in intent or effect

Yeah, I see how you might view it as a close call, but I'm in agreement with the other folks here. I think if I had come up with "The Magnificent Sever" I'd feel slightly robbed if yours were approved. If the word squarely meant "income-producing" you might make a case for it.

Did you used to be called something else, Prof? Because I don't recognize your name, but you have a lot of reviews. I voted for some.

Nice work.

Several of us agree, it just doesn't make the cut.

Thanks so much for replying, all! I'll sever my attachment to this issue and move on to bigger and better funny bits.

P.S. Yes, I was dhannah, but I feared that I could be identified by those who know me from that user name, so in order to retain the freedom to post politically incorrect reviews without consequence I changed it.

I'm not ashamed of my politically incorrect views.

Good review, "The Magnificent Sever", don't you all think?

Didn't notice this thread bringing it any new votes, but that could change yet

That's 'cos there's no link to it. Fwfrers are lazy, you know. Thought you would have learnt that by now.

Unless Benj has changed the system from when the MERPs were introduced, and assuming that you have been resubmitting rather than submitting afresh, all instances after the first will just have been seen by Benj, so he wasn't going to change his mind. I agree with the others that just because he ended up making money from it doesn't mean that Loretta exhibited any munificence.

That's my problem too.

As for rejected reviews, I still don't understand why the MERPs don't get my submission for Hysterical Blindness of "Looking for Mr. Goodbraille".
