Now, let's not start everyone bullying Paul Bennison again.

We seem to have a Bennison/Venison link in this thread!

As I've mentioned before, Apple F for some reason often does not work on the pages.

Really? I'm on a mac and have never had any trouble with this, and I do use it quite a lot. Then again I've got a swanky laptop with OSX.

For my two pence/cents worth, I'm all for not having to read the same review on different films, BUT, do also agree that the same review could have different meanings depending on the film in question. Wish I had an example to back my case up but I don't.

I agree; I've made this exact point before. Ditto hares/rabbits, ducks/canaries etc. etc. But bear in mind that Jamaica can be called Trinidad, so it is already established that nationalities are also interchangeable.

Since when did anyone get these confused.

Make that ducks/canaries/chickens. Having said that, he is apparently sometimes considered to be a golden condor, but this is also not a duck or a chicken.

I cannot believe that "Passed, the buck" had not been submitted (before I did just now). Thanks!
Well, I find that staggering!
Doe! Why didn't I think of that?

So Big Bird is a canary. Really? Tweety Bird on steroids.

I tried searching the archives for the appropriate thread but was timed out.
Long story short...
There was a conspiracy theory about how all his reviews had at least 2 reviews. People bandied about ideas of self-voting etc and as Paul had never ventured into the fourum there was great chagrin and a fair amount of back pedalling when the subject of the debate made an appearance. His final word was the piece de resistance.
He changed his four word self-description to "Unfairly treated by Fourum" or words to that effect.
Long story short...

How about this recent example, in order submitted:-

Psychomania - "Brat out of Hell" - 2004
Little Nicky - "Brat out of Hell" - 2004
Omen (1976) - "Brat out of Hell" -(I submitted this and deleted it in 2004 when I saw that I wasn't original)
Hellboy - "Brat out of Hell" - 2006
Omen (2006) - "Brat out of Hell" - 2007

It's a shame you deleted it, Sean--because yours applied to the earliest film, and the one it seems to most naturally apply to.

I hafta say that Bafta Babe is guilty of a particularly egregious "cross-pollination" however--

My 25April05 review of Shop Around the Corner
You've Got Snail Mail

Bafta's 24Oct06 review of the musical version of this film, In the Good Old Summertime starring Judy Garland
Judy, You've Got Snail-Mail!

Aside from the fact that that is a five word film review, it's an example of very free "borrowing."

Thanks, George for pointing this out. I'm always glad to be corrected.

Actually, though, it IS four words because snail-mail is verified as hyphenated. I've just edited my review to read Judy's got snail-mail [and hope I don't lose my meagre votes as a result]. It's equally appropriate to this film since the later film You've Got Mail is based on this film which was based on the other film. I think at the time I was trying to work in a handful of takes on the 'got mail' phrase.

C'est la vie, eh?!

Actually both reviews should be rejected as factually inaccurate.

There's no snails featured in either film.
