I used to do a passable Lyndon Johnson:
"It grieves meeeee, to tell youuuuuu, that ahhh will not seek, and will not accept, the nomination for President of these great United States."

It thrilled my mom, a Republican - well until I picked up the dog by the ears....

I've been working on Anna Nicole Smith: "Do you like my bodyyyyy? Come here Sugar Pah!!!" but it's mostly been met by a silent audience.

I've been considering trying Katie Holmes, but there's no audience for a silent person grinning stupidly and nodding nodding in agreement with a hyperactive cured dyslexic spouting Scientology...

My best impression is Alec Guiness (or Obi Wan Kenobi to younger viewers), particularly 'If you strike me down..', 'Who is the greater fool...' and 'These are not the droids you are looking for'. And if you can do Guiness you only have to drop it one octave and you have a pretty good Roger Moore (and you get a bonus point if you can do the autonomous eyebrow).

Can also do Yoda, Darth Vader (when talking into cupped hands), Cartman, Tommy Cooper, Sydney Poitier, Peter Lorre and Russell Crowe. But, strangely, not on demand. I have to do it of my own free will or else they come out too strangled.

So you can't do Tommy Cooper "Just like that" then?

I also do Adrian Monk, but whenever I do, people get annoyed by my constant whining for a wipe. And they hate it when I touch all the parking meters. (Isn't that ad for the show using Blind Melon's No Rain just to die for??)

Hello, all.

I was looking through this thread about impressions, and I wanted to tie it in with the topic of movies. The following website posted its list of 10 great movie monologues:

http://www.altiustutasarim.com/notdefteri/arsiv/2007/02/top_10_greatest_film_speeches.php

So what I did was record these speeches as various characters:

1. Richard Nixon as Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now
2. Bullwinkle as Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men
3. Andy Kaufman as Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront
4. Droopy as Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction
5. Professor Frink as Michael Douglas in Wall Street
6. Bob Dylan as Peter Finch in Network
7. One of the Beatles as Ewan McGregor in Trainspotting
8. Elmo as Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry
9. Kermit as Richard E. Grant in Withnail & I
10. John Wayne as Mel Gibson in Braveheart

Granted, some of these turned out better than others, but it was an interesting exercise. Right now, these are all brief .wav files -- about 30 seconds apiece -- but I suppose I could turn them into one MP3 file. But I don't have a website or any place to put them. I was wondering if any of you FWFRers knew of a place which hosted audio files. If so, I could put a few of these up for people to peruse, and other FWFRers could record themselves doing famous movie monologues (not just the ones at that website) in the voices of various characters. We could even turn it into a little contest.

Any takers?

You guys do realize that anyone here can say just about anything, given the absence of a verification means.

Along those lines, I do a pretty good Moses, a passable Zeus, and a spot-on Marquis de Sade.
