I now have 296 pending reviews. While I don't want to overfreight the MERPS, I fear that letting my review languish would be suicidal, as so many brilliant competitors are out there to capture an idea. Submitting a review is the only way to assure patent registration. For all I know, 296 is a typical number. What is the high point of pending reviews that you have had?

i think the most i've ever had is around 40. i'll admit, though, i'm not really motivated to submit new fwfrs if they aren't being approved regularly. i've been hovering right about 30-something lately, unless i have a stroke of brilliance, as it seems we've hit a slow spot. |

YIKES!
I have less than 20 pending. I usually, don't get too far above that number.

I try not to have an enormous backlog - if things slow down considerably in approval times then I try not to do huge splurges in submitting as there's obviously a build up, and adding to it won't help. I try not to have more than 50 pending at any time. Out of interest Catuli are most of those 296 recent subs (i.e since January 1st) or do they date further back? |

Something else occurred to me which I think might help the MERPs - although I don't have definitive evidence either way - going back through all of your pending reviews and updating them all with explanations might make the approvals quicker and easier - that way there's no debate about what your intention is or whether your pun is understandable (if you write punning reviews obviously). Also if it then gets declined you can assume it needs some work as further explanation isn't necessary - lessening the number of second submission reviews pending as well. I recently updated all my submissions with explanations and my approval rate is undoubtably picking up. In fact I had three in the last ten minutes. Thanks MERPs!
The other obvious advantage of reconsidering and selling all your pends is you get a concentrated second look to throw out the poor quality, the inaccurate and the generic ones that we all submit from time to time. We're getting to know the approvals system pretty well now, so sometimes you can second guess when your pending review won't cut the mustard! I think of it as a great way to improve what I already have waiting to go. |

Dude, I got that many aprroved in 2 months. You're salting my wound here, you know.
*gulp* I have no idea how it works. Not how old they are, not how new the film is, not how long you've been on the site. Just stick in there! It makes those approvals all the sweeter. |

Exactly 100, but 12 approvals in the last 2 days after a slow couple of weeks.
Many thanks to Benj and the MERPs |

I have been averaging one or two looked at every 4 days for the last three weeks (not all accpeted of course). Because this topic of review approval came up elsewhere and it seemed like new ones were only going to add to the delay problem, I've been keeping mine to about 40. Refine, delete, wait. Just had two pass, though. Hurrah! Both of them rejected first time, but resubmitted with explanations. Double Hurrah! |

Demonic, gosh, they've accumulated helter skelter so I haven't really looked at when some were first created. I'm glad that, unlike dairy products, they don't have an expiration date.
Bafta, thanks for citing that Oct. 1, 2006, date. It gives me an idea of how long to wait. Of course who says that one will be addressed any time soon.

At this counting, I have 170 pending reviews. The earliest first pass is November 22, the earliest second pass is September 10 - or October 9 - I can never tell which. |
