I completely agree with you there. Drugs and booze didn't help his behaviour but it wasn't necessarily the cause of it. However, I don't put him in my 'musical genius' category, as he really wasn't that musically talented.

Yes, they should be acknowledged for their fusion of musical styles (reggae, rockabilly, dance, jazz, ska) and not simply lumped in the 'punk' category. |

I always felt this review was underrated. Then again, "Radio Shack" might only be a store in the US, I'm not entirely sure.
Edit: Ooh! let me add another. I know there's a review for Zodiac that is identical, but it has 5 times as many votes and I'm jealous. |

BTW I really don't believe you should be including the Clash in any lists of punk bands. Putting on spiked leather jackets and sporting mohawks didn't make them any more punk than hanging out at Studio 54 made the Stones a disco group. The Clash may have enjoyed making fun of the Stones and the other pop mega-groups, but they were far closer to them than they were to any punk bands. Punks bands just don't do stadium concerts...it's not about "selling out" (artists are allowed to be successful), it's a question of how accessable the musicians are to the audience. Part of what makes it "punk" is that it's almost impossible to tell the different between the musicians and the audience.
Rather than take up space here I've taken up space here to rebut Downtown's criticisms. |

P.S. If Tori's "Children of the Corn" review goes into the Top 200 I want mine to go with hers! |

These are my top voted and I've always hoped that at least one of these would get me into the top 200.
The ones for Hidalgo, Glitter, Fugitive, Truman Show, Superman....
I've already voted for the first three. I've left the Truman Show one as I used the same idea for Pleasantville in an older review. I don't get the Superman one - could you explain it? |

In Salopian's temporary absence Tori, I'll explain as best I can, although I've only worked out this process by trial and error.
Taking your Hildago review.
1. The address for the review page is http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?id=6551 Personally I set my display to Review Votes descending as default - in other words highest voted first, so Koli your review is second in line.
2. If I click on "Reviewer Name" I get Turrell first then your two reviews following it. (http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&id=6551&Mode=&Rows=100&Start=1&do=)
3. In the address bar change the amount of "Rows" from 100 to 1. That gives you Turrell's review on its own. (http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&id=6551&Mode=&Rows=1&Start=1&do=)
4. We want to move along review so we change the "Start" in the address line from 1 to 2. Voila! (http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&id=6551&Mode=&Rows=1&Start=2&do=)
That process also works if you tweak the address from any of the other organising tabs (chronology, number of votes, etc.) but sometimes you have to count to the position of the review you want to highlight, or use a bit of guess work till to get the one you want. You can also highlight all of your reviews for one film by changing the number of rows again. Again, using Hildago - you have two reviews so change Rows from 1 to 2. (http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&id=6551&Mode=&Rows=2&Start=2&do=) See?
If anyone knows a quicker way than I've described please correct me!
Yep, that's it, although I find it's easier to change the start number before the number of 'rows'. I would also always recommend using real chronological order (not antichronological, which is the first option) for individual reviews, as this is the least likely to be affected by changes on the site (i.e. it's safe unless an older review is removed). |

Salopian...I didn't copy your review...I'd never seen it before. How did you figure that yours was written before mine? I don't know how to do that. :)
The Superman one...Reeves has a big S on his cape and he was injured in an accident involving a horse. |

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that you had seen my review. I just tend not to vote for puns that I happen to know have been used earlier. (This applies to everyone's reviews, not just mine.) You can check the order reviews came either by the dates directly (these may be the approval dates, but in Spring 2004 those would have been soon after the submission dates) or by checking the review's I.D. number. Hover over 'Report' and this should appear at the left of the bottom bar of the window.

Oh, I'd forgotten that. I tend to err away from ones referring to real-life illness, injury or death. I've found a couple of others to vote for instead. |

I've often pondered removing it because of it's bad taste (which isn't like me in the first place) but doing that would just give another to Smithee and I know you don't want that. :) |

Yes, please do not do that. I don't get why people Smithee reviews they are uncomfortable with - as if it absolves them. Your review is not too bad taste, so you shouldn't worry about it - there are many far worse than that. |
