Hey Benji,
Any update on the cap? It started in February and it's been 10 months since then.
I'm not complaining, just wondering if it has had an affect and if you are considering removing it anytime soon. |

No plans to remove it yet since the backlog is still very much there I'm going to try and go on the offensive over the Christmas holidays when I have one of my rare week's off work and, depending on how that goes, I'll have a rethink about it then. |

Even though I have lost a place that I will never get back I approve of the cap. You can leave the cap in place for me.

I hope that, once Benj has been able to reduce the backlog, he'll consider at least a small increase the current limit.
Even a raise to 25 per week would make a real difference to me.
I can appreciate that many fwfrs find 20 a week more than enough for them, but they might want to consider that some other fwfrs do not feel the same way and respect that.

Just looking at my own backlog, I don't think that he'll be raising the submission cap any time soon. |

Benj How about offering roll over rate submissions? You know...If you dont sumbit 20 one week it rolls over into the next week. When then you culd have 20 + whatever you didnt do last week. I hear other Four Word Companies are offering them. Maybe you should think about the same thing. hehe. But seriously........For those of us Who get writers block from week to week. We could add up from week to week and have a burst of thought. While others keep submitting week to week....Just after a days thought. Could be something to keep in mind. |

Yep, I agree. And if rolling over one's allowance is too complicated, it should be allocated per month instead of per week. I don't have any interest in reading more than twenty reviews from the same reviewer on week per average, though. |

If it means that the majority of us get a better chance of a few approvals each week I'd favour keeping the present limit.
Although I have plenty in my backlog I reckon I average between one and two approvals per week, and at the moment I don't see any sense in making the backlog bigger. |

OK, here's my considered opinion, if anyone cares.
Firstly, Benj should increase the number of MERPs.
Then the backlog should be cleared.
Then the processing time should be brought down to a quicker target level.
Then, if it's possible to reach that target a small increase in the cap level should be introduced, maybe to 25. If targets are still met then further increases could be considered.
The above is if Benj wants to address the situation. If he doesn't, and it's up to him, then I have to agree that increasing the cap at the expense of slower approvals would be a bad move, so the cap should stay where it is.
Finally, I'd like to thank Benj and the MERPs for all the work they have done throughout 2007, which I'm sure we all appreciate very much. I know I do.

You should all know by now that I don't complain about this shit, but I have had, give or take, 140+ reviews waiting for approval for the past four or five months. I only have two recently approved reviews at the moment, and I just don't feel the urge to come up with reviews when I know that the approval rate is, at least for me (I am not implying any ill will), very slow.
As for an immediate solution, I agree completely with all the points raised in Whipper's previous post.

I'm with Whipper here. I don't actually like the idea that if we don't write to the cap limit, that we can increase the next week's cap by that number. I'm too dyslexic to be able to keep that straight. |

I find that adding new movies and reviewing them in the process gets through alot quicker than if you submit reviews for older movies. |

But who could be the MERPS? There were requirements which I'm sure would still be in place, and after that still the MERPS had to volunteer. Both really cut down options considerably.
