Channel4 have a film quiz. The idea is that you identify the film title from one still. You have three lives; if you keep winning the sky's the limit (currently the highest score is 3622). I am languishing far below in 700th place.

Enjoy.

PS Still in about 700th place.

Do the questions get harder as you move along? It's not much of a challenge so far.

Ugh. Life's too short! Can't believe some people have had the patience to reach 3000+. They must be doing it in shifts. I gave up at 20 after I was asked two of the same questions twice.

I just got to 92 (for the loss of one life) when a "technical error" page came up and I was booted out.

Still can't get that monkey one though...

I like that your other options were "Godzilla," "Alligator" and most puzzingly, "Bambi."

Yeah, I discounted Bambi because there was no good grazing on top of that skyscraper.

I am now languishing at no.35.

I estimate it will take me about 8hrs 34mins at full pace to get to no.1. Maybe tomorrow?!

I don't know how you guys did it. I ended up with only 9 points! I lost my third life on "What food marks the arrival of the grim reaper in Monty Python's Meaning of Life?" I probably haven't seen the film in at least 5 years (its my least favorite of the Python features, but still funny).

Are you doing the same quiz? The one we're doing - I assume it's all of doing it - is the one where they show you a still from the film and you have to id it from a choice of 3 titles.

Your question above, however, has a sweet ending - explosive though it may be

Ooo... I'm really furious with Channel 4!! I just wasted 1 hours zipping through question after question and racking up 510 points with 3 lives still intact ... at which point I had to go feed my mewling cat and have a pee.

When I returned, the expletive deleted quiz had locked me out due to "a technical error or you took too long with no activity" ... I've filed a complaint with them, but hah! NB: there's no way to "pause" or "save" your game. So that means the top scorers either are a group of people - which discriminates against the single player ... or they're even more obsessive than I am, and play while sitting on the loo with a fridge in easy reach, and they've killed all their pets.

I certainly never wanted their measly TMNT gear, but I'd have loved to be somewhere further up the leaderboard. Bastards!

The quiz is even more of a swizz because after a while the same films recur time after time. I know there are others in the random loop because some of the ones that came up last night weren't there at all - while some today re-appeared 5 or 6 times.

Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

PS - if anyone STILL wants to participate in this STUPID quiz, it certainly helps if you've had a night's sleep

You're complaining! I got to 1088, got the next question right and it reset my score to 0.

Actually today the questions are no longer random (or pseudo-random) but rotate in a sequence of 204. I kid you not.

I wonder if they answer the complaints in strict rotation too?

This is getting serious ... especially in light of the recent Parliamentary hoo-hah about Rich and Judy and the so-called Play channels. Hmmm ... do you think we should contact the media ... Channel 4 shouldn't be immune!!!

insert really cursiest curse of your choice:
I just got up to 1289 when the cursiest curse quiz re-set my score to zero.

That's it! I give up.
Bah! Humbug!

And do NOT remind me it's April 1
