Sorry Sal, "beta" means son and "beti" means daughter. Beta is used as "dear" only with much younger people. So beta half doesn't make sense.
Oh O.K., thanks for the info. I hadn't noticed it only being used to address men. It's odd that they always translate it as dear in the subtitles, as one can address a younger man as son in English, even if that's much less common. Anyway, it doesn't matter - I'll be able to recycle it into a different film. I'll add a different review here. |

And I
Notes for two I'm very pleased with:
"The Golden Age" is Shekhar Kapur's follow up to "Elizabeth". "Sunshine" stars Rose Byrne.
Additional aid:
In "Dog Soldiers" Sean Pertwee suffers a rather nasty disembowelling. |

Sledge, your "Vulcan Eyes Rubber" is pure genius! I get the pun but judging from the votes, few others do. |

Shrek the Third: For those who don't know the basic plot
I didn't know, and didn't want to know, so thanks for that.
Sorry Salo, but my hint doesn't give away anything that you won't find in the Shrek the Third movie trailer or in any newspaper article about the upcoming summer blockbusters. These definitely aren't spoilers.
However, if you're a big Shrek fan and was trying to avoid knowing any plot points about the movie, then again, I'm truly sorry. (I get that way with some films I'm really looking forward to -- I'll turn my head away and plug my ears when the movie trailer comes on and I won't read any newspaper article for fear of learning plot details.) |

You're clearly doing this from memory [assuming you're going back to the true fount], and I definitely salute that, but you didn't get it exactly right. Can anybody else help Whippy out? Sensei?
Really! for sure

Well, I haven't seen any of those (and I would try not to), so that's not really relevant. However, I agree that it wasn't quite a spoiler. I think, though, that films that haven't even come out yet warrant a particularly cautious approach to giving out plot information. |

Arguments for the defence:
a. He's probably sung my version at some concert or other sometime somewhere.
b. Sorry, I was all thumbs.
c. I stand corrected. No Juarez.
d. What? He wrote something similar to my tagline for this FYC? Well, that's a coincidence! But my version is just a little better methinks.
e. "I don't believe you. You're a liar."
