Sony has confirmed at least three more Spider-Man movies.
Maybe they can get George Lucas to do one? |

anyways....What still gets me is that this was billed as Spider-man back in Black. He didnt even wear the suit that long! Didnt do much in that suit....except dance. I get that this is a movie and they have a few hours to tell a story. In the comic it took Months for the black suit to change Parkers Additude. Fogive me but, Best of the 3???????? I dont think so. It even tried to follow the trilogy format we learned in 'Scream'. But the mystery was someone else killed Ben. Yawn. I didnt even feel for sandman. I felt noghting. He was like a big ol Rock. No emotion, no guilt. He had no range. I am sorry. But this is not the best of the 3. I don't know how I will feel about a forth.
I haven't said anything about anyone else's opinion, why do you feel the need to argue with me and make me feel like a moron? It's an opinion and while I don't require you to agree I would appreciate it if you could be a little nicer. |

Having said that I wish to be respected regardless of my views on SM3, after a night of sleep I'd have to say that I think I prefer the second one, or at least like them equally. I thought they were both great. |

I didnt intend to argue with you. It was just interesting that you didnt think a charachter known as Venom wouldnt be scary to a kid. By the way. If there ever comes a time that a Superman movie is made with a Character called DOOMSDAY. Ya better not take your kid.
anyways....
Whats the deal with the people across the hall from Peter??? The guy is starting to get anoying with wantiung the rent, but then he starts being nice to Parker. His daughter. Whats the deal with her??????
I sure hope the next movie has the professor turning into The Lizard. He's starting to get annoying too.
P.S. I am sorry Tori. I dont wish to be that guy that argues other peoples opinions. Of course your respected by me. Your still trying hard to make great reviews. you already are great. |

Some posts in this thread seriously need some spoiler warnings
I won't be able to see the film for a couple more days but it doesn't sound good so far, I have to say. I prefer my comic book films like I like my comic books- with decent dialogue and characterisation.
It seems a great shame the general populace have grown to associate superhero films (and therefore comic books) with hokey dialogue and badly strung together plots or that some think Spidey 3 can be excused these flaws for this reason.
Ah well... I'll reserve my judgement yet... |

I am really rooting for The Lizard being one of the next villains. I'll be sure to look out for Doomsday. :) My husband is hoping that Carnage will be up soon.
I really like the landlord and daughter, though I was pretty confused at first at the change in attitude but then I realized that time has passed and at first he didn't know Peter and his only concern was collecting rent but he's gotten to know him and a sudden character change would concern him. He's just softened as he's gotten to know him- he's still the same person. I like the daughter but she is pretty wimpy. |

Saw it with my daughters on Saturday and enjoyed it as a fluff piece. After attending an ex-student's funeral earlier in the day I was looking to enjoy myself so I put my critical brain on hold and went along for the ride. My 15-y.o. (who also loves Smallville) was curled up on her seat with embarrassment for Pete during his black suit phase (think red kryptonite). |

Odd- both myself and Lisa really quite enjoyed the first half of the film and the evil Parker was good fun, but when he reverted back the whole thing kind of lost us. Even the final set piece just seemed like a reheated ending of the first one. We just kind of turned off. And then following that with such a dull ending (where was the upbeat ending to leave you skipping out the cinema- it WAS basically a happy ending, right?) just left us sat there going "Meh..."
Still, I did at least think the plot was a lot more cohesive than I'd been led to believe. I must say, though, I think Raimi needs a good editor to slap him about the face and tell him what to throw out- that dance number was straight out of The Mask and just didn't fit and, once again, the interactions with the landlord and his freakish anorexic daughter added absolutely nothing.
And where did Gwen Stacey go? Just wheel her in to emphasise Parker's a shit and then drop her with no mention again? Very shoddy.
Still, respect due on the sand effects - not enough to make this one I want to see again in a hurry, mind. |

from imdb:
George Lucas has joined the major newspaper critics in their negative appraisal of Spider-Man 3. In an interview with FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman, Lucas said, "It's a silly movie. ... There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there?" Over the weekend, Spider-Man 3 surged ahead of Lucas's Star Wars' episode Revenge of the Sith to take the record for the biggest weekend box-office record. Star Wars was also criticized as being "silly," Lucas noted. "But it wasn't." He also disclosed that he is working on at least two other Star Wars movies for television. "But they won't have members of the Skywalker family as characters. They will be other people of that milieu." **********
and ewoks aren't silly, George? what a hater!
