We saw Die Hard 4 last night.

I won't say if it's over or under or sideways-rated, but I will say this: I enjoyed the two hours, it was a great action flick.

Don't look for it on Oscar night, much, but it was much better than I thought it would be (and I don't think I ever saw #3. #2 was at the airport, right?)

I don't think it's much of a spoiler to say that it has a fairly high body count...

Dude, I love how Bruce Willis kills the bad guy at the end. (Spoilers: Bruce Willis kills the bad guy at the end.) That's all I came for, man.

Pros:
Bruce Willis is cool
Justin Long doesn't stay as irritating as he is at the beginning of the film
Mary Elizabeth Winstead is just great as a young Miss McClane. Seriously, she is just awesome, I would watch a movie with just her in it

Cons:
Worst bad guy this series has ever seen
Too serious. Too connected to real politics
Disappointing violence. As often as people get killed in this movie, it's interesting how no one seems to get hurt.

I've always admired Bruce Willis for never making any attempt to hide his baldness.

There's a pretty funny line about that in the movie, too.

Bruce doesn't need hair, he's got balls (and no, that isn't the line)

Why should he? He looks great without hair. If Nicolas Cage stopped trying to hide his baldness, that would be brave.

Good article. Having said that, I'm not sure it's the mother-of-all-action-movie one-liners. "I'll be back", "Make my day" etc are just as well-known and memorable.

Think I'll wait for the DVD for this one.

We finally got to see the movie on monday night. I'm glad we got half price tickets from the local newspaper. The film was OK in a switch-off-brain-and-enjoy kind of way, but that was it. It was everything we've come to expect from a Die Hard movie, only more so. I think the scriptwriters/director/producers tried to cram so much in that something got lost in the process. Disbelief was not only supended, but well and truly hung, drawn and quartered. Was the audience supposed to be laughing out loud at the point where Brucie takes down the helicopter? We were. Two words to sum it up? - preposterous bollocks.
